Analysis and Interpretation on Preemptive Strikes by the North Koreation forces
The Preemptive Strike Plan of North Korean forces was a paln for conducting the Korean War in 1950. NK's attack operations and battle were developed based on this plan, but this plan could not be carried out properly during the Korean War. This was because of the awkwardness of harmony and balance in its operation plan itself and the lack of understanding in NK leardership posts.
The phenomenon and consequence were analysed through the framework of political purpose, military objectives, means and methods mentioned in 'On War' by Clausewitz. How the meaning and relationship of these factors should be done were studied through the process.
Even though NK armed forces had overwhelming superiority of combat power and reach a strategic level of surprise, the first phase operation of the plan was awkward because NK forces failed to catch the essence in three factors and keep harmony and balance throughout the planning and execution.
