Home Bargains Stores front in Cross Hands, Llanelli, Wales.

Home Bargains is not a shop I normally go to but yesterday I had the opportunity to be taken there and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

As you can see from the photo above the building is not that attractive and the sky looked a bit ominous. The parking area was busy from that point of view.

When you turned around you can see there was a lot more space to park. We went early afternoon and finished everything about 3.30.

Star Buy stickers attract you to the lower bread prices.

Home Bargains is a bit of a difficult shop to define; it’s got a bit of everything. The first aisle you see as you go into the shop is the toiletries section which is unusual because in a supermarket you normally encounter the fruit and vegetables first. This shop is huge and also offers an outside garden centre with many flowers, compost bags, and so on. Apart from that there's also a cafe area, and toilets. I didn’t get the chance to visit the cafe or toilets this time.

You have 2 hours' free parking so you need to finish everything within that time. If you went to the cafe, you’d be adding at least half an hour extra to your stay. I’m personally not so keen on shops that ‘limit your stay’ and if you go over the specified time, they fine you. If I spend my money somewhere, I want to stay for as long as I want to really.

Anyhow, The photo above shows you the bread section which was quite massive in comparison to the vegetables section.

Fresh Baked Goods : Cakes, Biscuits and Sausage Rolls.

I think that the ‘Fresh Baked’ section needed stocking more often or we just went too late because there were lots of gaps.

All in all it was a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon excursion to a new location and to a superstore. In the future I’d like to try the cafe to see what it’s like.

Still Life with Home Bargains products.

The photo above shows you three items from my purchases yesterday : I paid 89p, or around 8 Steem, for the twin pack of Simple soap bars. The Maple Syrup (Maple Shack, 250ml bottle) was £3.29, or around 30 Steem, while the white Dubai bar of chocolate was £3.49, or around 35 Steem.

I’ll try to ‘report’ on my other purchases in another post - I wonder whether or not you can guess what I managed to find.

I've found a page for this shop with information about what they offer in Cross Hands and the general details can be found below :

Generally Lidl’s and Aldi’s prices are still lower in my opinion, but it’s always good to visit other places and find different goodies.

If I spend my money somewhere, I want to stay as long as I want.

I agree, you are the customer and your experience, whether positive or not, has an influence. And if it's nice to visit other places and in good company, I love going out with my daughter, as we like a bargain, ha ha ha.

Many stores change their names; it's happened to me. The corporate name is one thing and the commercial name is another. I like the word “excursion” and I agree that an outing with little or no money (a lot of money is a dream, at least for me) can become an epic moment. You couldn't resist the chocolate. Who do you remind me of? Ha ha ha.

Happy Sunday.

Thanks @marito74. I think it was just me ! I found the information I needed eventually - the chocolate was nice !
