Hi welcome to my blog today, I'm going to be showing you how I prepared coleslaw. This week's salad engagement challenge was interesting as I explore how to make coleslaw.
I'm used to making it already but then I have never added apple to it until I decided to take part in this contest and I bought Apple even though it was optional because I really wanted to have a taste of it.
To begin, this are my ingredients

- White cabbage
- Purple cabbage
- Carrot
- Green apple
For the dressing:
- mayonnaise
- cream
- Lemon juice
- Mustard
- Sugar
- Salt to taste

I wash and slice all the veggies, white and purple cabbage, carrots and apple
I started mixing by adding cabbage to the plate

I prepared the dressing adding mayonnaise, cream, lemon juice, mustar, sugar and salt to taste then I stir consistently to be thouroughly mixed together. Done preparing the dressing

I enjoyed this colorful salad as a main course for my lunch the day I prepared it. The reason is because, I wasn't really in the mood for eating anything heavy so I took this and I was fine. This salad contains fiber and vegetables which are both nourishing to the body and it keeps me full for some hours before I actually took my dinner.
Aside from that when I prepare salad in my house I usually take it with either roasted chicken, fried chip, fried rice, jollof rice or any other thing that blends with the coleslaw.

White cabbage; contains fiber that helps in guy health then enhances digestion and bowel movements. With the present of vitamin C, it helps I'm boosting immune system and fighting infections
Purple cabbage; it helps in reducing inflammation in the body, boast immune system, with the presence of collagen, it flows the skin.
Carrot; is good for the eyes, as it supports vision, flows the skin, contains fibers with support digestion.
Apple; it has low calories which makes it effective in weight management. It contains vitamins C, go weans potassium. When eaten with the skin, it helps to maintain a healthy glucose level, so it is very good for people with diabetes.

Wash your veggies clean and free from sand and dirt, use vinegar to wash it very clean.
Cut veggies to a shape that is easy to eat and appetizing so use veggies cutter or grater to make It extra thin.
After mixing it, allow it for about 5 mins so that the cream will soak in the veggies which will enhance the taste and flavour.
Remember to always add vinegar or lemon juice to enhance the taste and also preserve the salad for you.
- Lastly, refrigerate it to chill before serving it .
