My breakfast was simple, just tea and bread. Next i did some house chores, starting with the dishes and i was humming one of my favorite songs while washing the dishes. I later swept and mopped the floor.
By the time i finished, it was already 11am. A friend of mine had secretly arrange for me to play the saxophone for her sister as it was her birthday. The celebrant had no idea. I pulled out my saxophone from its case, gave it a quick polish and ran through a few scales to warm up. Satisfied? i packed up, dressed in a casual outfit and headed out with my motor bike.
The venue was at the celebrants house and while she was at home, we walked in with other friends and family shouting surprise. Her face lit up and ust as she was taking it all in, I started playing Happy Birthday on the sax. The look of shock turned into joy on her face. After the birthday song, i play a few more jazz tunes before leaving.
By mid afternoon, i was back home, slightly exhausted but happy with the after glow of a good performance. I changed into something more comfortable while at home and collapsed on my couch.
When i woke up, the sun was beginning to set and i thought i would be nice to step out again, but this time for something more low key. A close friend of mine owns a small clothing boutique in town and i hadn't seen him in a while. I texted him to confirm he was still at the shop before going there.
His shop was as lively as ever with quality clothes and shoes displayed all around. My friend greeted me with a wide smile and said "you finally decided to visit me today."
We caught up on life, and business while he attended to a few customers present at his shop. His little kids barely four and one year old were running around the shop accasionally hiding behind clothing. I spend some time playing with the little once, making smiling faces, and pretending to chase them.
As the shop grew quieter, i decided it was time to leave. My friend waved me off, and told me to vist more often
The ride back home was peaceful and while i was home, i called it a day.
Thanks for going through my diary.
