Greeting Steemit Family
Finally, the day we crown the world champion in the world of football. Donald Trump would say,
“You call it football, we call it soccer.”
This has been one of the best competitions in a long time, bringing clubs from all over the world onto one stage. This is the first edition of the FIFA Club World Cup featuring 32 teams, with the USA proudly hosting it. It has been a journey filled with emotions, excitement, and unforgettable moments. Throughout the competition, we have witnessed spectacular goals, great ball movement, and exceptional individual skill from players across the globe.
Since the tournament is taking place during the transfer window, it gave many players the perfect stage to showcase themselves. As a result, a good number of players played their final match for their current club during this tournament. Many will move to new clubs in the upcoming season.
The next FIFA Club World Cup will be in four years, meaning the winner holds the title for the next four years. While some have criticized the timing of the competition, others see it as a huge financial boost for clubs. Now, teams would not just fight for domestic league positions. They will also compete for a spot in the next edition of this Club World Cup tournament.
Out of 32 teams that locked horns, the final day has arrived. The day to decide who becomes the champion of the world. The battle was set between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), two teams that have performed exceptionally well and fully deserve to be in the final.
Chelsea are the Conference Cup winners (2025), while PSG are the UEFA Champions League winners (2025). This is making this a real battle for supremacy. Chelsea, a young and evolving team, is building a solid foundation to win the Champions League in the future. PSG, already European champions, have proven their top-class quality throughout this tournament.
In an interview with Ronaldo (the big No. 9), he said something that caught my attention: “Chelsea will always be Chelsea.” I didn’t take it seriously at first until I saw the game.
Chelsea came into the final with a completely different lineup from their usual formation. One big change was moving Reece James (captain) from right-back to a midfield position. Meanwhile, PSG kept their winning team unchanged. As the old saying goes, “You don’t change a winning team.” LOL.
However, sometimes it is essential to make subtle adjustments to your formation. Because other teams study your past games and prepare to exploit your weaknesses, I think that was Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca’s strategy behind the change. From the very beginning of the game, Chelsea set the tempo, and PSG were forced to follow. PSG, known for their aggressive offensive play, found themselves on the back foot. They were probably expecting Chelsea to start defensively, but Chelsea brought the game straight to their goal.
In the first 10 minutes, both teams missed clear chances. But after Chelsea’s Palmer missed the first opportunity, he didn’t make the same mistake twice. The third chance is the same spot, same setup, and boom(Goal). That made it 2–0 in just 20 minutes, and you could see from the body language of the PSG players. They didn’t believe they could come back.
PSG were the favorites before kick-off, but they could not find their rhythm. They tried everything, but nothing was working. By the end of the first half, Chelsea were leading 3–0.
The second half had no goals, but it was clear PSG were out of the race. Chelsea are now the first team to win the 32-team FIFA Club World Cup and will hold that bragging right for the next four years. To top it all, Chelsea are now the first club to win every major trophy, both domestic and international.
Let’s just say, football fans (especially Chelsea fans) won’t let us rest this season.
Cheers
