The Diary Game (Monday, July 14, 2025) Participating in Community Social Activities and Power-Up Steemit Account

Hello everyone, friends...

It's great that we can meet again. I'll share a story about The Diary Game, I hope my friends like it.

On the first day of school after nearly a month of school holidays, I reopened my photocopying and stationery shop at 7:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. I hoped to sell several packs of notebooks and other stationery on this first day of school. Over the past three years, notebook sales at my shop have declined drastically, driven by the rise of similar businesses, from three to nine.

This was compounded by the presence of street vendors selling notebooks, taking advantage of the new 2025/2026 school year. The morning atmosphere began to become bustling at 7:00 a.m. with the activity of students arriving at school for the teaching and learning process. New students, newly admitted to the new school, arrived early, some accompanied by their parents, while others arrived alone with their friends. Some were still awkward in their new uniforms.

My hopes this morning were not in vain; it turns out there are still many students whose parents haven't bought them notebooks. This is evident in the students who were dropped off by their parents first stopping by my business to buy books before entering the school grounds. Furthermore, students are waiting for the class rosters to be distributed so they know how many books they need to buy. Many parents are still postponing buying notebooks for their children due to their financial woes.

This year's new school year coincides with the start of the new planting season in the rice fields, and money has already been spent on farm expenses like plowing, buying rice seeds, fertilizer, and agricultural chemicals. The majority of residents in my neighborhood earn their living from farming. Their children's notebooks will likely be purchased after the rice planting season is over.

In the midst of my busy schedule at the photocopy shop on the first day of school, I had to attend a wedding reception at a resident's house in the same hamlet as mine. Despite my busy schedule, I couldn't possibly skip the wedding reception, as it would likely spark public discussion as someone who doesn't actively participate in social activities in my village. The consequences would be disregarded if I were to hold a similar event in the future.

In the afternoon, the weather, which had been very sunny, suddenly turned cloudy. Not long after, a fairly heavy downpour began. After a brief slackening, it began to drizzle again, continuing into the evening. The rain only truly subsided around midnight. As a result, I didn't do anything at the photocopy shop because there were no customers.

While writing this daily story, I did a Power-Up on my steemit account.
