Between Palms and Pavements: Village Life vs City Life

We all come from somewhere, right?
Some of us came out crying into red sand, palm trees, and rooster noise.
Some of us were born into honking cars and concrete everything.
And me? I’ve lived both. I've seen both.
Felt both.
They’re not the same, but they both shaped me. So, no Google stuff here — this is me, raw.

Write about the advantages and disadvantages of village life.

Village Life Sweet, But E Get Why

3bc2e81f-1e07-4062-8205-0719b0d9aaf2.jpeg

1. That Quiet Peace Hits Different

Village mornings hit you with that silence that’s not really silence —
Birds, wind, someone frying akara far off, maybe even a goat arguing with air.
But it's peaceful.
No stress.
No generator noise.
No neighbor’s baby crying at 1am.
Just peace. Real one.

2. Everybody Na Family

Village no dey do “mind your business” lifestyle.
Everyone dey your matter — sometimes annoying, but also safe.
You fall sick? Someone's mother is already boiling leaves for you.
You no get salt? Check two houses, you go find.
You go even chop food wey you no ask for. Try that one in Lekki.

3. Life No Too Cost

₦100 in city fit insult you.
But in village, that ₦100 go stretch like rubber band.
People dey farm. Food dey.
Even house — na family land you dey squat, nobody dey ask you rent.
Just manage firewood and go fetch water. That’s life there.
Simple. Cheap. Not easy. But you go survive.

4. Food Na From Ground

E no dey pass through 10 nylon or barcode.
Cassava, ogbono, goat meat — straight from bush to pot.

Sometimes you follow them kill the goat sef.
No freezer, no wahala.
The pepper hot pass supermarket one.

But No Be Everything Soft for Village

1. Wetin You Wan Do With Your Life?

Opportunities? E rare o.
No tech hub. No internship. No “networking.”
If you’re not farming or teaching, abeg wetin you dey do?
Na why boys dey run go city sharp-sharp. You love village, but it no go carry you reach anywhere.

2. No Light, No Road, Just Dust

Ask any village person about NEPA — dem go laugh.
No be joke.
Phone na decoration unless you fit pay someone to help charge.
Road? Rain go show you pepper.
One small flood, and your whole slippers don go swim.

3. You Fit Dey Back of the World

No news. No update.
You dey think life still be like 2009 until you reach town.
Everyone don move on.
Na like pressing pause on your life.

Write about the advantages and disadvantages of city life.

City Life: Sweet But Draining

IMG_0010.jpeg

1. Hustle Full Ground

Na here you dey see opportunity like sand.
You wan be content creator? Tech bro? Makeup artist?
City go test you, but e go also give you chance.

You sabi something? You fit shine. If you no sabi? Well…

2. Hospital, School, Wahala We Still Dey Manage

At least when you sick, you fit enter clinic.
Not every clinic good — some go still tell you to buy drip — but e better than hoping on agbo.
Schools? E dey. If you hustle am well.

3. Internet = Your New Power

City dey run on Wi-Fi.
You fit learn work from YouTube.
Do remote job. Send money home. All from your bed.

Village no fit try that one.
But for city, once you get sense and 4G, you dey alright.

4. Enjoyment No Dey Finish

Barbecue joint, cinema, street vibes, love wey start for Danfo bus.
City dey give you memory you no plan.
You dey stressed, yes — but you dey live.

But The City No Be Heaven

1. Money Go Finish Before Month End

₦300k wey sweet for village go vanish for city.
Rent, fuel, food, one unexpected debit alert —
You go open app, see ₦1,233 left, and wonder how.

2. Your Head Fit Burst

City go press you.
Noise.
Deadlines.
Ten things to do and zero time.
You no go fit even hear yourself think sometimes.

People dey smile outside, but inside dem dey cry. Fr.

3. You Fit Dey Lonely, Even With 10 Million People

Nobody send you.
Your neighbor no know your name.
You fit faint for house and na smell dem go follow discover you.

Crazy, abi?

Conclusion.

So Where I Belong?
Honestly, I no even know.
Sometimes I wan run go bush, forget everything, just breathe.
Sometimes I wan grind hard, chase money, wear coat, sit for AC.
City sweet.
Village peaceful.
One dey give you pressure, the other dey give you peace.
But me? I carry both inside me.
Na why I fit switch. Fit adapt. Fit survive anywhere.

If life balance well, maybe I go build house wey near city but still get farm for back.
Wake up to birds, but go town make money.

Na that soft life I dey dream.

Well for me, I prefer city life to village life, because of the opportunities we find there, unlike the villages where things are limited, though there are advantages like peace of mind and access to natural food items.
