BIWTA Dhaka River Port, Sadarghat.

Today, I will review BIWTA Dhaka River Port, Sadarghat, through the Steemit challenge 25 with the Steem-atlas map. BIWTA is the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority. BIWTA has a river port at Sadarghat in the capital, Dhaka. This river port facilitates communication between the capital, Dhaka, and various regions of our country. Passenger transport and import and export of goods are carried out through the river port located at Sadarghat in Dhaka.

There are about 54 river ports under BIWTA in our country. Out of these, seven river ports are the largest. BIWTA Dhaka River Port was built in 1960 in the capital, Dhaka.

BIWTA Dhaka Port is situated on the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, the capital. It is located at a place called Sadarghat on the southern edge of Dhaka city. The port is located ten kilometres south of Dhaka International Airport. There is a BIWTA wharf and office at Sadarghat of Dhaka Port. There are twenty entry gates to enter the waterfront of the port. There are two gates to enter the BIWTA Dhaka Port office. Passengers or tourists must purchase a ticket for 10 taka or 0.7 Steem to enter the port. Today, I entered the port as a tourist by buying a ticket at the wharf.

This seaport has established a connection between the capital, Dhaka, and the people of Khulna, Barisal, Chandpur, and Bhola districts in the southern region of our country. After entering the seaport pier, I saw a massive terminal. Big launches arrived at the terminal. The seaport authorities have deployed security forces inside the terminal to ensure the safety of passengers. Separate launch terminal areas have been identified for each district. Big launches are waiting in line for passengers.

Dhaka Seaport has a mosque for passengers and employees to pray. A time chart has been prepared for the launch movement. There are small office rooms inside the terminal which are used to assist passengers. Lighting has been installed to enhance the beauty of the launches. The Seaport Authority provides the schedule and security for the launch movement. BIWTA controls the navigation routes for launches and steamers.

Goods are being loaded and unloaded by boat through the river port terminal.

BIWTA Dhaka River Port operates three-story and four-story launches. This river port is the most popular destination for people from the capital, Dhaka, to travel to the southern part of the country. The river port has the largest wholesale market in the capital. The river port is very important for importing and exporting goods from the southern region. Goods from the southern region come to the capital, Dhaka, through this river port.

The Buriganga River flows through the capital, Dhaka. This river port is used for business activities for people on both sides of the river. Goods enter the capital, Dhaka, in small boats. In case of a boat accident, a rescue ship named Rustom is always ready from this river port. Microphones have been installed to guide passengers. Flower pots have been placed inside the terminal to enhance the port's beauty. Thousands of people travel through this river port every day.
