1. Gonorrhea:
Signs and Symptoms:
• Abnormal vaginal discharge (yellow/green)
• Painful urination
• Lower abdominal pain
• Bleeding after sex

• Ceftriaxone Injection
• Plus Azithromycin or Doxycycline

2. Chlamydia:
Signs and Symptoms:
• No symptoms in many!
• Vaginal discharge

4. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV):
Signs and Symptoms:
• Painful blisters or sores on vagina or surrounding area
• Itching & burning
• Flu-like symptoms

5. Hepatitis B:
Signs and Symptoms:
• Fatigue
• Jaundice (yellow eyes)

6. HPV (Human Papilloma Virus):
Signs:
• Genital warts
• Itchy growths around the vagina
• Some HPV types cause Cervical Cancer
➰ Treatment:
• Wart removal (Cryotherapy, Laser or Topical creams like Podophyllin)
➰Prevention: HPV Vaccine ( This is mostly recommended for girls less than 12 years of age especially if they haven't yet had a first sexual encounter).
How To Avoid These STIs
• Regular STI screening (even when you feel okay, check).
• HPV (Human papilloma virus) & Hep B Vaccines should be a MUST take.
• Condoms aren't for decoration, make use of it.
• Having one faithful partner saves you stress and antibiotics (your husband or partner).
• Stay away from random "situationships" (sleeping with a lot of guys without protection).
