My Neighborhood Watch #106- Reporting Events Around Us..//Funeral I attended at Ikot Abasi.

Hello everyone, this is me @vicvine25 reporting from Ikot Abasi Local government area in a burial event I went to as a member of the choristers.

It was still raining so heavily, but the rain didn't stop us from making our journey from Uruan Local government to Ikót Abasi to pay a last respect to our member who was put to rest today, may her gentle soul rest in peace.

The funeral was so so memorable, as we went under the heavy rain fall. The church women performed their usual match pass around the coffin not minding the rain. Followed by a salute.

It was so colourful to watch as this was our usual way of saying goodbye to any of our departed members.

After that, the casket was lowered into the ground, I reflected on the fleeting nature of life. One moment we're here, and the next, we're memories in the hearts of others. What truly matters in the end is how we lived, who we helped, and the love we shared. She was an embodiment of love, peace and hope to many.

After the interment, guests were hosted with a reception that included local delicacies like Afang soup, edikaikong with fufu, and well-prepared meats and fish a symbol of appreciation to everyone who came to mourn with the family.

While burials are never easy, this one reminded me of the strength and unity found in our members, especially in times of loss. Ikót Abasi stood tall in honoring one of its own, and I left today with a renewed sense of what it means to live a meaningful life and be helpful to others.

The distance wanted to be a barrier, it was very far as we traveled across different local government before arriving at the destination. It was truly an experience to have and witness as I crossed a wooden bridge for the first time in my life. I was so scared and to cross, but finally got determined through conviction of others.

To the Glory of God we went and came back successfully.
I am inviting @alexander25 @arella1 @bossj23 to this contest.

Burial mow adays is expensive and people do spend much, looking at this particular one that you attended it seems they spent enough, but another thing so important is timing, the short preaching and the conductor that handles it makes everything snappy.

Am telling you, burials this days especially in this part of the world is very expensive, people went into debt just for funeral. This one was one of the expensive funerals I have witnessed recently
