Week 1: "Around the World"

The Objective for the topic Around the world is to explore international cinema and cultural storytelling.

Around the world there are movies peculiar to countries, I mean movies produced, directed and acted by indigenous people of that country. For example, in my country Nigeria we have movies peculiar to us and we call it Nigerian films or movies. These movies are embodied by the film industry called Nollywood industry

Recently there has been many Nigerian movies to enjoy, I commend them for their improvements both in their acting and quality of movies...

The challenge this week encourages us to move beyond the boundaries of our country, see movies that are not from your origin, have fun with it, enjoy it and even narrate the story to someone else by writing it here. Doing so will help you understand how other people think and you can even learn their fashion, food or language.

Guess what? Few weeks back on Telemundo I saw a Mexican movie and I loved it. Infact I didn't know when I started singing along when they sang their songs in Spanish because I followed the movie for weeks. You see by watching this movie I learnt how to sing Spanish songs. I also saw a movie last night of an American origin which is gaining popularity in my country titled The straw.

Task for the week

• Watch a movie from a country other than your own country or not of your country's origin.

• Talk about the main idea of the movie

• Share the characters

• Describe the plot and setting of the movie.

• If you were the Director of the movie what would you do differently?

Guidelines for the challenge

• Read carefully and understand the task

• Your entry will be evaluated and rated out of 10, based on the emotional impact, quality and presentation, thoughts and the creativity of your storyline.

• The Title of your submission should be "SLC-S25/W1-Movie Snapshots|Around the world (add name of the movie)

• Post your entry in steem4nigeria community or on your blog.

• Tags to be used: #mschallenge-s25w1 among the first three tags, #steemexclusive #movies #creativewriting, and your country.

• The minimum word count should be 500 words.

• Invite 3 active friends to participate and drop the link to your post in the comments of this post.

• Promote on social networks like X and add the link under your post

• This contest will be open for 7 days starting at Monday 00:00 UTC, it will close at 11:59pm UTC every Sunday.

• At the end of the challenge I will announce the best 6 entries.

• Those top 6 entries will be eligible to receive SC01 upvotes and other participants can expect random votes from SC02 until the end of this challenge.
