I've known movies to be a means of relaxation , but who knew seeing a movie could be rewarding in terms of money??Thanks to @ruthjoe and the steemit challenge for this opportunity.

Watch a movie from a country other than your own country or not of your country's origin.

The movie I decided to watch is called Amateur. It is an American action movie that was released this year 2025.

Talk about the main idea of the movie
  • Transformation that grief brings. Through this movie we follow the transformation that occurs to Heller an otherwise withdrawn man.
The loss of his wife brings out a part of him he never knew existed. He becomes a rogue and is willing to go to any lengths to bring her justice.

  • Smart work beats Brute Force.
This movie shows that brain work most times trumps physical force. Unlike most American action movies we see a lot of physical force, but with this movie, Charlie heller uses his brain power to strategize and execute his missions in such clean and unconventional ways.

  • It also brings to light the politics being played at the international scenes. How power brokers sometimes misuse power given to them for their own personal ambitions as seen in the activities of the Chief of operations Alex Moore's character.

The Amateur tells a deep and personal story— more than just a spy chasing down bad guys. It focuses on a man whose world falls apart after losing someone he loves. Instead of fading into the background, he steps into a world he’s not trained for, driven by pain and a need for answers. This movie shows us what happens when emotion and intelligence collide, and how far someone is willing to go for justice, even if it means breaking the rules.

Describe the plot and setting of the movie.

This movie is about a CIA data analyst who has discovered something he shouldn't have, but keeps quiet. However his happy life comes to an abrupt end when his wife is murdered overseas as part of a terrorist attack on civilians. Seeing that nothing is going to be done to find the murderers due to bottlenecks, he takes laws into his hands to find them himself.
Armed with no skill apart from computer know how, he sets out on a mission of no return, but first he must get the necessary basic training if he will survive the world he's about to step into and he does so in the most uncharacteristic of ways. With the CIA now on his tracks,it has become the story of Pharaoh at his back and the red sea before him, he is running a race against death. Combining sense with tact, this movie proves that there are many ways to tame a bird. It also proves that smart work most times trumps hard-work. He achieves his goal in the most unexpected of ways, and still maneuvers being jailed or imprisoned.

From London, to the streets of Paris, Istanbul and the coastal waters of Finland.
This vast scenery really lends it's voice to the real life imagination of espionage.

If you were the Director of the movie what would you do differently?

I won't change anything about the directing as this movie was superbly scripted. I pride myself to be a good judge of the end points of movies but this one took me by suprise.
I had initially thought Charles Heller's discovery was related to his wife's death and related to the chief of operations murky activities, but as I progressed in the movie, I realised they were all exclusively independent. I love the beautiful way all these individual activities were merged into each other.
The writers also took viewers on a journey to see a real human side of grief that isn't always spoke about. The mental breakdowns, the silent acceptance and revenge that spurs up in one's heart. All real human relatable emotions. The directing was well played.

It is a movie worth seeing if you're looking for intelligent action thrillers that make use of the brain more than brute force
