Which traditional dish from your culture do you believe should gain worldwide recognition, and what is your reasoning?

The traditional dish from my culture is afang soup which is popularly known as salad soup in my country. I am from the southern part of Nigeria, and Bekwarra is my hometown, where it is afang soup, a type of bean soup that we know best, which, as for me, is afang soup.

I believe afang soup should have worldwide recognition as it is a nice dish that everyone ought to be eating. It is well known in Nigeria, especially in the eastern and southern parts of Nigeria.


If you had the chance to create a new food item or dish using technology (like 3D printing, lab-grown ingredients, or AI recipes), what would it be?

If I had the chance to create a new food item or dish using technology (like 3D printing, lab-grown ingredients, or AI recipes), it would be Nigeria Inspired Version of NeuroBites, which is specifically designed for emotional pattern, climate and local lifestyle that is often experienced in high energy environment.


The purpose

A 3D printed, lab-grown snack cube customised to match how I feel and what I need, built for Nigerian hustle, culture, emotional waves, and climate (like mood swings, burnout, pressure, and overthinking).


In what ways can we enhance the sustainability of our food systems while preserving cultural food traditions?

For us to do both sustainability and cultural preservation, we will need smart strategies that still honor the past while we are building for the future.

  • Revive Indigenous Crops: We can use native crops, drought-resistant like fonio, millet, or breadfruit.

  • Support Local farmers with Technology: Agri-tech like blockchain traceability, AI-driven, or weather alert can be used to help small farmers grow well.

  • Farm to Table Cultural Hubs: We can create urban food centers where people get to learn how to cook traditional food using local ingredients.


What is one food trend you think will be prominent in the next decade, and what makes you think so?

AI personalised Nutrition is what will be prominent in the next decade because it is tailored exactly to our DNA, gut, mental state, and microbiome. People can combine biometric data with a food database to suggest a precise meal. For example, an application that helps plan my meal based on how I slept, what I'm stressed about, can deliver to me on my next scheduled appointment.
