ON YOUR TOES!

In Church today

We have this very strict lecturer that when he's in class you dare not breathe or misbehave. He is really into the University of Nigeria’s motto which is to restore the dignity of man. And that we are trained to be found excellent in learning and in character.

So this very day, after waiting for his class which was to start by 2:30 pm, but he came around past 3 pm, so we literally spent one hour waiting. And then we still stayed in the class till 5 pm.

Let's just say that the whole of Thursday, the most important class for that day is his class, and 97% of the students is usually in attendance which is a great contrast to other lecturers.

The lecture had ended and he had already given assignment, just a little more and he will leave the class. But, just then, one of my coursemates who felt the class was over, stood up from her seat and was now standing, then she hung her sweater on her shoulder over her uniform.

The Lecturer turned and saw her and immediately demanded what her attendance number was as everyone had theirs. He cancelled out her number and also removed her assignment from the submitted ones.

To him, it's an offense to wear anything over your uniform, you must be properly dressed at all times. And that was how the girl forfeited her number and also couldn't submit her assignment almost when she thought she had achieved that already.

After the whole stress of doing the assignment and waiting in class for the lecturer to come, and also enduring all the inconveniences with sitting for a 2 hours class.

All of that gone, almost when she would have made it. She was close to getting all of that done, ALMOST!

The same happens in the heavenly race. As Christians, our sole goal is to make heaven. So daily, we’re running the race to get to heaven, and to be rapture ready. That when the master comes, He'll find no blemish in us.

At some point many start well and just when they are close to the end of their lives, a little carelessness will just disqualify them.

While some others think that once they give their lives to Christ, that they are forever saved. They feel they can act any how, dress however they want and continue in sin.

There is absolutely nothing like once saved, forever saved. A little carelessness can disqualify you in this race. So we must run carefully and watchfully daily till we enter there. There is no time to allow any lapses or sin.
We must be on our toes till He comes and find us faithful, and till we leave this world.
