One valuable life lesson is the importance of resilience. Challenges and setbacks are inevitable, but how you respond to them is by staying persistent, learning from mistakes, and maintaining a positive outlook. This can significantly shape your growth and success. Embracing resilience helps you navigate difficult times with strength and adaptability, ultimately leading to personal development and fulfillment.
There was once a time I worked in the Bookshop, I was diligent at work, and my Boss liked me for that because he saw my effort. He sent me errands on different occasions because he trusted me. On this particular day, I was sent by my Boss to visit his work partner in Ibadan with an amount of N120,000 to give him. On a faithful day, I entered a bus from Uyo to Ibadan. My Boss wished me a safe journey, and the driver drove off. At some point, I turned to view other passengers inside the Bus; the Bus was filled with many people.
While going on the way, the sightseeing was awesome because I got to see some places which I had never known since I was born. The money was inside my right trouser pocket, and at some point, I kept touching the money to be on the safe side. The driver drove into a filling station to get the bus fuelled, and I was still feeling the money inside my pocket. As we drove off from the station, I never observed the money anymore; all I hoped was that it was still there where I kept it, due to how I had checked countless times. We arrived at Ibadan safely, and I stepped out at the same time with the other passenger., I took out my then Motorola phone, called my Boss to call his friend to pick me up from the hop park. At that same spot, when I checked my pocket, the money wasn't there anymore.
From that moment, I felt so stupid, I was speechless, I felt like the earth should swallow me, and I began running around like a mad person. Asking the other passengers if they had seen any money. I was shedding tears, and I felt weak and worthless. After some minutes, I called my Boss, I told him everything that had happened; he was angry, no doubt, and I was forced to return to Uyo.
The thing is that, if it were now, the people would sit in their bedroom to make transactions to different places in the world, but this would never have happened. When I got uyo, my Boss saw that I wouldn't be able to return the money. N120,000 naira of that time. He had to take out the money from my salary, and I had to work hard to survive.
I learnt a lot of lessons after the journey. I had learnt that if anyone is traveling, value your life and property. I learnt that it is good to be Vigilant at all times, no matter where you see yourself.
