My Three Years of Motherhood: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Lessons Learned.

in hive-139765 •  last month

As I'm lying on my bed this hour of the night, reflecting on my three-year journey as a mother, I am filled with a mix of emotions - joy, love, exhaustion, and a deep sense of responsibility. Being a mother has been a transformative experience that has taught me valuable lessons about parenting, sacrifice, and the importance of being prepared.

As I look back on these three years, one thing that stands out is the importance of providing for my child's needs, particularly when it comes to food. It's not just about cooking meals; it's about being prepared to meet their ever-changing demands and desires.

Before becoming a mother, I wish someone had told me that being a parent is a full-time job that requires unwavering dedication and responsibility. It's not just about sharing parenting duties with your partner; it's about being prepared to take on the role of sole caregiver if circumstances demand it.

As a mother, I've learned that having a financial safety net is crucial. It's not just about having a steady income; it's about having a cushion to fall back on when unexpected expenses arise. And trust me, they will arise.

Now, let's talk about food. Oh, the joys and challenges of feeding a child! It's not just about cooking a meal; it's about having a variety of options available to cater to their ever-changing tastes and demands. I've learned that having a stockpile of raw ingredients is essential. You never know when your child will demand something specific, and if you don't have it, be prepared for a meltdown.

I recall a particularly memorable incident that drove this point home. My son, who was feeling unwell and on medication, refused to eat the rice and stew I had prepared on Sunday, June 22. Instead, he demanded for pap, which I happened to have in the freezer. If I hadn't had it, I would have had a stressed-out child on my hands.

This experience taught me the importance of being prepared and flexible when it comes to feeding my child. It's not just about cooking a meal; it's about having a variety of options available to cater to their unique needs and desires.

MY ADVICE!

To intended mothers, I offer these words of advice: before embarking on this journey, make sure you're prepared to take on the responsibilities that come with motherhood. Have a financial safety net, a support system, and a willingness to adapt to the ever-changing needs of your child. And when it comes to food, remember that variety is key. Stock up on raw ingredients, and be prepared to think on your feet. Your child will thank you, and so will your sanity.

My three-year journey as a mother has been a wild ride, full of ups and downs, twists and turns. But through it all, I've learned valuable lessons about the importance of responsibility, preparedness, and flexibility. To all the mothers out there, I see you, I hear you, and I salute you. And to intended mothers, I say: buckle up, buttercup, and get ready for the ride of a lifetime.
