Weekly Contest 38 || The Diary Game || A day at the construction site.

Hello friends good evening.
I want to share with you how i spent my day.
It has indeed been a satisfying one.

First of all I want to thank @m-fdo for organizing this contest.

            MORNING 

I spent my day in a construction site.
Each week i take out few days to participate in our ongoing kingdom hall construction project.
I woke up as early as 4:30 AM, do some chores, take a shower, brush my teeth then dressed up for work. By 6 AM i was set. I stroll to the junction, took a cap to the site. it cost me 500 niara only.
When I got there, i head to the dining hall where we did our morning worship. After the morning worship, we had Bread, tea and boiled egg for breakfast,
The safety reminders were reviewed, then we were all assign to our different tasks for the day.
We all match down to the store to sign and receive our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Then everyone depart to their different work assignment.
We had carpenters, electricians, plumbers,brick layers, iron benders and painters.
Personally I was assigned to assist with painting,
I was to paint the protector angles for the fence wall.
To be honest I have never painted before.
But my team leader make sure to show me the steps to follow.
First I was told to wipe clean the angles, followed by sandpapering, smoothing, then finally the painting . While I sandpapering, my work partner went on with the painting.

                     AFTERNOON 

Before I knew it was 12 noon. The interesting part was here. We were all invited for lunch. I was already on the thirteenth angle but as soon as I heard the announcement, I stopped working and head to the dining hall. I stop by the water tap to wash my hands. Then walk down to the dining hall.
On getting close to the hall, as soon as I step on the door post. I was welcome with a pleasant aroma of Egusi soup.
The aroma was so inviting. I went straight to the front seat and sat by the window side as that was my favorite spot.
Meals were dished and we were all served.
We were served Egusi soup with Eba.
Not just the aroma but the look was so inviting.
After a brief prayer to open the table, we all dig in.
With every bit i was craving for more. it was so delicious.
Finally we were all filled. We all sat to rest for 30 minutes.
It was then time to return to work.
Everyone return to the site and I immediately continued with my sandpapering

One by one i kept on sandpapering and smoothing the angles. I took off my gloves to feel it with my fingers to ensure it was smooth enough. Within an hour i was done smoothing all the angles.
I then took a break and rested for ten minutes.
When i was done resting, I assisted my partner with the painting. We were to run three coating on the angles. My partner was already on the second coating when I assisted her. Since it was my first time I messed up everywhere including my gloves with the paint.

                 EVENING 

But gradually I was getting it. Finally we were done and by now it's was already 4:30 PM.
We both echo "well done " as we smile at each other.
It was a work well done. Though It was my first time, i gave it my all.

We still had time, so I decided to widen out with some friends, gisting about our experience during the work.
Working with friends who like me gave out their time and energy to volunteer in our kingdom hall construction brings me great joy. We even took some pictures.

I then walk down to the water tap to Wash and clean my Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
i took them to the store to sign and return.
I then head back to the site.
It was 6 PM already. Finally it was time to bid farewell. We bid farewell as we all depart to our different destination.
As i stroll down to the junction, Reflecting on my experience at the site, i felt this inner joy within me. It was indeed a fulfilled and satisfying day
