Humaira Baths

This was my second time visiting the Humaira Bathing Spot, located in Gampong Pudeng, Lhoong Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency. If it’s your first time here, you might end up at a different spot by mistake. That’s because there’s also Villa Humaira in the same general area, but accessible through a different route.

Villa Humaira is a privately owned property, managed professionally, and requires prior registration to enter. Without a booking confirmation, don’t expect to get past the villa gate. Since it is privately managed, the road access is paved and smooth.

The river, filled with large stones, separates the two locations, Villa Humaira and Pemandian Humaira (the public bathing area). In contrast, the road to Pemandian Humaira is gravel and stretches about 1.5 kilometers from the main road. This area is managed by the village administration of Gampong Pudeng. Though the entry routes differ, the main attraction remains the same, a refreshing river with crystal-clear water.

The air here is clean and cool, far from traffic and city pollution. Tall trees line the gravel path, creating a natural canopy. This route is open to the public, but slightly challenging for four-wheeled vehicles. Parking space is limited, so arriving early is highly recommended.

When we arrived, the Asr prayer had just ended. Several men were waiting near the entrance, and we were charged an entrance fee of Rp15,000 per car. Since we brought two cars, we paid Rp30,000 in total (approximately 13 Steem).

We then searched for parking. Since the parking lot belongs to a private landowner, we had to pay an additional Rp10,000 for both vehicles (around 4 Steem).

This time, we didn’t plan to swim like most visitors usually do. We were only making a brief stop after another outing. Most of our group used the moment to take personal photos and enjoy the view.

During this visit, I had a different goal, to create content. As soon as I got out of the car, I started capturing interesting spots. I also took note of the pros and cons of this public site.

The condition of the huts and structures was nearly rundown. These buildings belong to local residents and were built on private land. Some are rented out. Locals also use the site to run small businesses.

There were stalls selling packaged drinks and snacks, and a few offered inner tube rentals. Aside from that, nothing really stands out in terms of facilities. But if your main reason for visiting is to swim and relax, then this place can still be quite enjoyable. You can soak in the cool waters for as long as you like.

After enjoying the atmosphere here, we headed home when the bathing area was starting to become quieter. Before ending this post, I remind you: if you want to get here, just follow Jalan Banda Aceh Meulaboh. When you arrive at Pudeng, turn left and enter via the unpaved road. Thank you.
