We are all familiar with the word child labor. Usually, child labor means making children do some work at a young age. It is said that today's children are the future of tomorrow. Currently, the meaning of the word has been narrowed; because in the present time, child labor has become a national disease.

◑ Poverty:

The main cause of child labor is poverty. In a poor family, children are often considered a source of additional income. Parents send them to work instead of sending them to school. Apart from this, illiteracy and lack of awareness play a big role. People from poor and poor families have to accept the reality. That is why parents use their children to shoulder the responsibilities of the family. In this, they work in factories, starting from breaking stones, working in people's homes, in various hotels and restaurants, car garages, and shops.

◑ Can be made to work for low wages:

Child laborers can be made to work for relatively low wages. Therefore, employers use children for various risky tasks and make them work more.

Due to low education, poverty and lack of awareness of parents, they consider education as a non-profitable activity. They do not have the patience to continue the expenses of their children's education for 10/15 years. Child labor is increasing due to lack of educational materials and opportunities and lack of awareness/indifference of parents about the ill effects of child labor.

It is essential to implement strict laws to suppress child labor. Strict action must be taken against those who violate the law. We all have the responsibility and duty to ensure their protection in building a healthy and beautiful state and an ideal nation. ☞ What we can do to stop child labor:

◑ Child labor is called the product of poverty. Poverty is the root of child labor, to stop child labor, poverty must first be eliminated.

◑ To stop inhumane child labor, we must change our mental attitude, we must think of other people's children as our own.

◑ The problems of children under 14 years of age must be identified at each district and upazila level and solved.

◑ Village and city-based rehabilitation projects must be adopted to stop child labor. A list of children who are engaged in child labor due to poverty must be prepared and child allowance must be provided to them.

◑ The government must implement all the laws that exist to eliminate child labor and adopt short, medium, and long-term plans. Child labor can be eliminated with the coordinated efforts of everyone.

◑ To eliminate child labor, it is necessary to find out where child labor is taking place and this matter must be widely publicized in the media.

◑ It is seen that there are many employers who do not employ adults because they have to pay high wages. Strict punishment should be taken against these employers for making children work.

◑ Education of every working child should be ensured.

◑ Public awareness should be created about child labor and children's rights. Social and political commitments should be implemented to eliminate child labor.

Children are the leaders of the country and the nation. Today's children are the craftsmen of the country of the future. Today's children will take on the great responsibility of running the state of the future. For this, it is essential to develop children as worthy citizens, good citizens. In the developed countries of the world, various types of care systems have been developed for the physical, mental and intellectual development of children. But in our country, children are being deprived of their basic rights in various ways due to illiteracy and poverty. Due to poverty, they have to get involved in various labor professions at the beginning of their lives.

Child porters are scattered in these areas of the railway launch ghat bus stand across the country. As a result of joining this profession, their mentality does not develop, but rather due to being in bad company, they get involved in various anti-social activities or various types of criminal gangs. These child workers get used to consuming various types of drugs including Yaba cigarettes and ganja at a young age. When many children fall ill while working, their owners do not take any action. We know that the government is working to create a child-friendly environment. Along with the government, child labor can be stopped with the joint efforts of everyone. An appeal to all the wealthy people of the society, let us all extend our helping hand to these children. Along with the government, we come forward to ensure their right to education and social rights. Only then will smiles come to their faces. They are the ones who will brighten the face of the country one day.
