Hello my art lovers and artist, how are you all doing today, today I will be sharing with you my new Ankara textile design on paper, my pattern for today is called geometric patterns, as you can see I worked with an angular lines forming a repeated V shapes I invented, I also used an abstract leaf forms and little circle, but before drawing my patterns, I stretched my cardboard on a board by wetting it with water and taping it with water tape and I let it dry for some hours, after that I drew my patterns on it, and I later covered it with the two background colours I prepared.
The first background color, I mixed Cobalt blue, Prussian blue, and white all together, and for the second color I mixed burnt sienna, yellow ochre and a little bit of black together then I applied it one step after the other, after that I started tracing out the patterns with colours, the V lines I painted it with off white and blue and the abstract leaf forms I painted it with brown and white, as for the little circled I painted it with brown after that I outlined every thing with black.
As you may know I got the off white by mixing white and a little bit of brown together, and I got the brown by mixing Burnt sienna and white together, the materials I used for this beautiful Ankara design is poster colours, brush(point 0 & 10) cardboard, and water tape.
