First, I begin my speech with respect and love for everyone in this community. I hope everyone is well. Today, I came to participate in the contest
📢Water sources and uses in agriculture

. Thanks for organizing such a wonderful contest. I'm excited to take part in this lovely competition .

What are the types of artificial and natural sources of irrigation in agriculture? Which source do you use in agriculture?

Irrigation is a very important element in agriculture, which is directly related to crop productivity. Generally, there are two sources of irrigation, natural and artificial.
Natural sources include rain, rivers, canals, lakes and groundwater sources. On the other hand, artificial sources are: tube wells, deep tube wells, pumps, reservoirs, boreholes, etc.

I myself use tube wells and rainwater in agriculture. I use both these types of sources. Although rainwater is used naturally in the field during the rainy season, artificial irrigation has to be provided during the dry season. Especially during the Rabi season, irrigation is provided depending on tube wells.

✅Reasons for excessive cost of irrigation and how can it be reduced?

However, problems arise when irrigation costs increase. One of the reasons for excess irrigation costs is: uncontrolled water use, low-quality irrigation equipment, high cost of electricity or fuel, and wastage of water.
Some effective methods to reduce this cost are:
• Modern irrigation methods such as drip irrigation or sprinklers
• Providing a fixed amount of water according to the needs of the crop
• Applying irrigation at the right time and technique according to the level of the land and soil type
• Conserving and reusing rainwater

✅What role does irrigation play in increasing crop production?

Irrigation plays an important role in agriculture because it directly affects the growth, structure and yield of crops. Where rainfall is insufficient or irregular, good yields are impossible without proper irrigation.

✅How can natural water sources be controlled? Share your opinion.

It is necessary to control natural water sources such as rivers, canals or rainwater so that it is not wasted
• Construction of dams
• Re-excavation of canals
• Creation of reservoirs for water conservation
• Raising awareness among the local people
In my opinion, modernization of irrigation systems, awareness of water use and government support. Only if these three aspects work together will irrigation efficiency in agriculture increase and farmers' production costs will decrease. As a result, crop production will also increase and it will be possible to ensure sustainable development of agriculture.
