My Creative Writing:The Lessons I Learnt From My Plantain Farm

Today I visited my plantain farm and I am amazed at what I saw, I don't know how to express how happy I am honestly but I know putting this in a piece will encourage someone out there.

When we packed to this part of the city, I really needed to go green, I thought of something that could be lucrative as well so I learnt plantain could be due to it high demand, so I opted to it.

When I planted it, it was if I was wasting my time then because it wasn't yielding anything, I spent money to buy good suckers and also pay for the farm to be nurtured And I also spent so much time visiting there and making sure everything was in place yet the time and resources spent couldn't be recovered in the first 2 and half years.

I did not study the art and science of cultivating plantain and banana, but one thing I know is the my wit will make a way for me, I went through so many videos and consulted people that are into plantain farming and I was given different tips on how to grow plantain, I began to put in the work and within a short period of time my plantain began to blossom.

The worst happened last year when the heavy wind came and pull down the plantains and even those that were producing fruits, it was really a heart breaking moment for me, I couldn't stop shedding tears but I knew it one way or the other I will make it out of this plantain business.

Fast forward to today, I have harvested more than 20 bunches and others are still producing and by August I should go and harvest them and make some money from it and also give out as charity.

Dear friends, this my experience should be a reminder that no matter how much you have tried in the past, there is Always a way out as long as you stay consistent and know what you want, it might not be farm work, it might be something else, just focus on the long time gain and forget about the present loss so that it won't blind you from that beauty that is to come.

Just do it anyhow you want to, be ready to face a whole lot, these experiences are what build perfection and expertise, learn and be sure to ask for help when necessary.
