The Dairy Game: A Relaxing Weekend

NHIE MFON

I had plans for going to the salon where I served as intern to visit my madam. It's been about two weeks and I haven't been to the shop so, I had planned to go on Saturday. I woke up very early on Saturday, had our regular family devotion, did my vocals and went to have my bath. After having my bath, I dressed up, did the dishes and had breakfast. By this time, my siblings were up trying to prepare for choir rehearsal.

BREAKFAST

After breakfast, I left for work. The shop is not so far from my house so I decided to trek. By the time I got to the shop, it was still locked because my boss hadn't arrived yet. After some minutes of waiting, she arrived and unlocked the shop. I greeted her but her response was rather cold. I left after helping her to sweep and arrange the shop.

WAITING FOR MY BOSS TO ARRIVE

When I got home, my mom was trying to fry corn so I had to help her out. Together we took the seeds off the corn shaft. After that, I added a little salt and water to soften it a bit. I went to the grocery store to buy ingredients for the rice I was planning to prepare later in the day.

AT THE GROCERY STORE

I decided to use charcoal stove to fry my corn. When I returned from the store, I set the fire and got ready for frying. I haven't fried corn for over a decade now, so it felt new doing it again. Sitting by the fire made it a bit uncomfortable but it was ohk for me. After some minutes, my corn was ready.

CORN IS READY FOR CONSUMPTION

I turned it into a large tray and my mum shared it amongst us. I turned mine into an airtight container because I didn't want to eat it at the moment. Later, I bought pear and ate with the corn. It was being to get sunny so I took out the clothes my sister had washed the previous day to dry.

DRYING OF CLOTHES

My aunt came with my cousin, Miracle and we had a good time together. I played with Miracle, fed her and sang for her. Miracle, unlike babies her age, is a very lively and smart child. She's barely six months but she can crawl very well. After enough playing, she slept off.

After I put Miracle to sleep, I decided to play Ayo game with my brother. This time around he won me hands down. I now accept that I'm not really good at games. I only play to have fun and pass time. While playing, my aunt who had gone to the market returned and she bought a beautiful lace for me to rock to Miracle's dedication, which is coming up by the end of the month.

In the evening, it rained heavily and I went to take a nap. I woke up by 8pm to have dinner. I sat in the living room for a while and surf through my socials before going back to bed. Thank you so much for engaging. Take care of your wonderful self. Do have a lovely time.
