🤍 What does the word hope mean to you?
To me, hope means quiet strength that keeps me moving forward in life when I am down or want to give up. It is a belief that I have that no matter how far the moment is from me, I will still achieve success in life. Hope is a form of belief in life, for a better day ahead.
🤍 Mention a difficult situation in which hope helped you overcome.
There was a time in my life when I felt completely stuck personally, emotionally, and creatively. So many of the things that I tried seemed to fall flat, but I hope the idea that will change my life leads me to a breakthrough, keeps me trying to achieve. I put my hope and trust in God on that day.
🤍 How do you think you can give hope to others?
I think I can give hope to others by listening to others without judgment and by being real about my own struggles in life and how I can overcome them. I believe hope is contagious when people see that someone else has made it in life and they weren't perfect either. Also, by showing an act of kindness in the form of a compliment, a reminder that someone is not alone.
🤍 What recent news has given you hope?
I do hear a lot about mental health and emotional well-being from my place of work, schools, and online, which, seeing how people are speaking openly about their trauma, healing, and growth in life, reminds me that as a collective, we are beginning to normalise vulnerability and compassion.
