SC S25W5: Drawing Realistic Style Anime

My character this week is Shōko Nishimiyaa female protagonist of the Koe no Katachi series. She is a schoolgirl who is clinically deaf and faced constant bullying from Shouya Ishida and his friends in elementary school.

Her story is a pathetic one and I love the fact that she didn't give up in the end and she finally got what she wanted.

Making my drawing, I decided I won't draw her in a uniform rather, in a decent wear that looks more like the teacher's own. I thought she should look different for once and maybe I would forget some part of her sad story.

Starting my drawing, I used a plain sheet, pencils, eraser, sharpener to start. I started by drawing horizontal lines and vertical lines to be able to have equal proportions and achieve a balance.

I drew the eyes first which were my bone of contention. I made sure the both sides were equal with the help of the lines I drew.

The head and hair were the next step so I went ahead to sketch it after finishing with the eyes.

I went further to complete the sketch by drawing the body and and the face, this way the drawing becomes more visible of what it would eventually turn out to be.

The shading was done starting from the eyes. I gave it a dark and light shading to have a good view of the eyes. I went further to highlight the head and the hair with all the fancies on the hair.

I shaded the hair with dark and light shades. The fancies were also given a dark and light shade because it has to be visible as to what it is. I also shaded the cloths, the body and the face making the color more cool for visual.

I don't make use of graphite pencils, so I used my normal pencils to shade and it came out nice.

I added my username showing that the drawing belongs to me.
