What is a Witness?

To me, Witnesses are a community of leaders that are the backbone of the Steemit blockchain who also happen to be fellow users as well. They serve the community in various ways amongst them they power up the Steemit blockchain by running seed-nodes of which they are rewarded with getting powered up 1 STEEM for each block they produce. Before you start thinking they're all making a buttload of money, they actually get rewarded for running these servers in STEEM POWER (which takes 3 months to power down). While that is happening, they'll be using their own finance, wherever it comes from, to maintain the servers. In other words whatever they earn highly likely goes back into the Steemit platform anyway. So it gives a check a balance as witnesses are further incentivized to be committed long-term.

What is unique about @bitrocker2020 as a Witness?

There appear to be two types of witnesses on Steemit. There are technical witnesses, that create apps on top of the Steemit blockchain, in other words - developers. And there are social Witnesses, like @bitrocker2020, who help the community by providing answers to questions about the platform and also tips on how to use it better. He has built #teammalaysia not just to be a hashtag but into a community of people around the whole Malaysia consisting of around 800+ people as of today. Of course there are other #teammalaysia buddies, including myself, that have brought many to the platform but he's been one of them that has consistently put in the effort and time to help grow and build the people in the community. He does a lot of ground work by actually getting to know the people in the community and is never hesitant in giving quality advise and know hows of using Steemit, of which I think makes him a very unique Witness.

Short Special Mention

With every Batman there comes the need of a Robin. But what if I told you there were 2 Batmans? @maverickfoo is the guy I'm talking about. He's not a Witness (yet?) but has partnered up with @bitrocker2020 on so many occasions particularly running masterclasses and bootcamps, educating and working together with fellow #teammalaysia Steemians. With them at the forefront of growing #teammalaysia, you can be sure that many more quality content creators will and ARE already joining the Steemit platform. These guys are really motivating and encouraging as many as they can to get on board and start authoring and curating content. Sometimes I don't know why they're spending so much time asides from the "chance" of getting more followers of which doesn't benefit them much as well because everyone that starts are minnows and need more support than they can give away, but because of this reason, it just shows how much they believe in the STEEM blockchain and what it can do for everyone! @bitrocker2020 is also working with @sndbox and have been running an initiative called @myach to connect more people and help other fellow Malaysians start up their own initiatives.
