Secondly, you need to work on the home environment (and as many other environments as you can) in the same manner, that is, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Trips to the park or an open field where kids can run and play ball games are excellent ways to burn energy, without overstimulating them and adding to the hyper activity. This way, when it is time to go home, your child is more likely to want to rest and focus on more calm activities. Being a good parent is not always easy and we tend to be too hard on ourselves, especially when we have hard-headed kids who do not tend to listen to demands and instructions very easily.
