We hope you have all been enjoying Season 18 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge which is coming to an end shortly. Season 19 of the Challenge will be starting in early July. Applications are now invited for the new season. For this 19th round we have decided to experiment with a bit of a new format. --- --- ### Teaching Teams

For Season 19 we want to try something new. Three of the slots will be allocated to Communities who should produce weekly challenges as usual. Additionally we want to recruit two or three **Teaching Teams**. These Teaching Teams will operate more like the Crypto Academy. Each Team will cover a particular subject area such as photography or crochet or baking or spreadsheets or electronics. During Season 19 they will be expected to deliver a lesson in their subject area each week with a corresponding homework task. The six weekly lessons should ideally form a cohesive course in their subject area. The Team will then review and grade participants’ homework posts. Each team should consist of a lead Professor and one or two Teaching Assistants to help with the homework marking. All team members should have an in-depth knowledge of their subject area, ideally at a professional or experienced hobbyist level. Teaching Teams do not have to be associated with any particular community. Homework posts from students following each course do not need to be posted in a particular community and can instead be tracked through the use of appropriate tags. --- --- ### How to Apply for Season 19

We are inviting applications from both Communities and from Teaching Teams. Communities should apply as normal with an application post including… * the purpose and brief history of their community * a list of all Founders, Administrators, and Moderators * details of their community curation account, how it is being built up, and who holds the Master, Owner and Active keys * details of the community’s current policy for checking and commenting on posts * details of how the community helps members improve the quality of their posts. **We are particularly looking for Communities who can offer creative, interesting and inspiring Challenges. To demonstrate this, Communities should include in their application three example challenges that they will use if they are selected.** --- Teaching Teams should similarly make an application post including… * the subject area they want to cover * details of the Professor and the Teaching Assistants including their experience in the subject area be it professional or hobbyist * three examples of the weekly lessons they would include in their course. Team members should have a minimum of 1000 SP of their own and a minimum reputation of 65. Each Teaching Team should have a combined Steem Power total of at least 15,000 SP. There are no restrictions about nationality or language or community affiliations. The only restriction on participation will be that people cannot be both in a Teaching Team and in the Moderation team of a selected community. --- Application posts should also contain the contact details (Telegram/Discord) of at least two members of the Teaching Team or the Community. **Posts should be submitted by 11:59 pm UTC, on Friday, June 28th, 2024.** For Community applications the posts should be made on the community account and include the tag #engagementapplication in the first four tags. For Teaching Team applications the posts should be made on the Professor’s account and include the tag #teachingteam in the first four tags. --- --- ### Checking & Grading Posts

The Communities and Teaching Teams selected for Season 19 should ensure they promptly check and comment on all posts for their weekly contests and lessons. The minimum they should check for are plagiarism, AI content generation and bot use. To help @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02 to curate the posts more effectively Community Mods and Teaching Teams should use a clear, simple, and easy-to-read comment format. --- --- ### Community Beneficiaries

**Please note that the selected communities should not make setting a beneficiary to any related community account obligatory for anyone to enter the Challenge contests.** --- --- ### Selection of Weekly Winners

Each week we would like all Challenge communities and Teaching Teams to make a post announcing the **three** people who have performed the best both through their own post submissions and through their engagement with others. We will leave it to each community or Teaching Team to decide how they select their weekly winners, but they should include in their announcement posts a brief summary of their selection process. **All the weekly winners, as well as the announcement posts, will receive extra prize votes from @steemcurator01.** Communities should post on their community accounts, Teaching Teams should post on the Professor’s account with beneficiaries shared with their teammates. The weekly announcement posts are rewarded with substantial votes from @steemcurator01. --- --- We are looking forward to reading all your applications.
