The Illuminated Atlas of the Steem-Powered World takes its inspiration from the old Steemit Worldmap, originally by @martibis, that ran successfully on Steem for several years before the 'big split'. For the initial populating of the Steem Atlas we have pulled in over 44,000 posts that were geo-located through Steemit Worldmap. Now we would like to see new posts being added.

If you are writing a post about a museum, a place of worship, a restaurant, a zoo, a shopping mall, a restaurant, a park, or any where you have visited - then why not try adding it to the Steem Atlas. You can either add your post through the Steem Atlas using markdown, or you can create the post in your usual interface (such as steemit.com) and just grab the map code from Steem Atlas to include in your post. The Road Ahead

The site is still in its beta stage and there are bound to be some bugs and oddities that will surface as the site gets used. Please comment below with any issues you have with the site. Or contact @pennsif on Discord. After this initial beta stage we are planning a full launch of the site early in December. Then we will be looking to promote the site far and wide beyond Steem. We very much see the Steem Atlas as an outward looking project. It has great potential to attract people to join Steem. **People cannot resist a zoomable map with pins - they will always zoom in to explore places they know** 😀 --- ---
