A few months ago I stopped using Facebook and Twitter. I stayed with Whatsapp (for work issues), instagram and Tiktok, because they seem to me sites I consume more content than I do, however, with these days off I have spent more time on Instagram, I went back to twitter and I have kept an eye on Facebook, besides becoming addicted to Tiktok. I realized this and with that I understood that oversharing is something that is very present in society right now, both in older people and teenagers, but the truth is more present in young people who do not know how dangerous this is. >*Hace unos meses deje de usar Facebook y Twitter. Me quedé con Whatsapp (por cuestiones de trabajo), instagram y Tiktok, porque me parecen sitios consumo más contenido del que hago, sin embargo, con estos días libres he pasado más tiempo en Instagram, volví a twitter y le he echado un ojo a Facebook, además de volverse adicto a Tiktok. Me di cuenta de esto y con eso comprendí que el oversharing es algo que está muy presente en la sociedad ahora mismo, tanto en las personas mayores como en adolescentes, pero la verdad está más presente en jóvenes que no conocen lo peligroso de esto*

But then, what is oversharing? Oversharing is a term that refers to sharing data about your life on the Internet in an exaggerated way. That is, photos of where you are, stories, thoughts, the places where you go. This has become a trend because of the idea of wanting to be an "influencer" that the networks have sold us, or because of the quote-unquote anonymity that some networks can give us, but the truth is that on the internet everything is stored and can be harmful in a few years, or, if you are a little pessimistic, it can be bad sooner rather than later. >*Pero entonces, ¿qué es oversharing? To combat oversharing they have come up with some "rules" that work as tips that you could use or bring up to anyone you feel needs to take a break with social networks: do not post your phone number, do not share your real location, do not show your plans, do not show yourself as a person you are not and finally, do not make comments that you would not make in real life. All this is very important to continue with a normal life without any long term risk on the networks, however, you have to keep in mind that in society now as it is, it is almost impossible not to show things of your life on the internet, but this works to be more careful on social networks. >*Para combatir el oversharing se han pensado en algunas “reglas” que funcionan como consejos que podrías usar tú o planteárselas a cualquier persona que sientas que necesite tomar un descanso con las redes sociales: no publiques tu número de teléfono, no compartas tu ubicación real, no mostrar tus planes, no mostrarte como una persona que no eres y por último, no hacer comentarios que no harías en la vida real. From my experience, I know that many times I have fallen into oversharing and that I actually seek to show a good image in my social networks, especially on Instagram, but I try to do it more as a small cover letter than anything else, without publishing where I am or how I feel, showing only what is necessary to make things look good without giving importance to my personal life or showing anything explicit. I hope with this you can do the same or at least be aware of what you do. >*Desde mi experiencia, sé que muchas veces he caído en el oversharing y que en realidad busco mostrar una buena imagen en mis redes sociales, sobre todo en Instagram, pero trato de hacerlo más como una pequeña carta de presentación que otra cosa, sin publicar dónde estoy ni como me siento, mostrando solamente lo necesario para que las cosas se vean bien sin darle importancia a mi vida personal ni mostrar nada explícito.
