A study published by the Space and Science Research Center in Florida (USA) found a ***strong correlation between solar activity and major seismic and volcanic events on Earth***. When the devastating earthquake struck Japan on March 11, 2011, the Sun had a strong activity, which generated even more popular interest in this matter. ***A couple of days ago an earthquake shook Mexico with a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter scale, but something that few people know, is that the same day was in full development a severe solar geomagnetic storm, type G-4 Kp8***. Could this have something to do? It is noteworthy that the authors acknowledge that the outcome of their inquiries ***is not conclusive***. Since they did not find a relationship, but neither can ensure that it does not exist. The investigations of the relationship between geomagnetic storms and the strong shaking of the planet, not having conclusive results, do not allow to clarify this unknown, maintaining the suspicions about the relation of these phenomena.
