It's a good question. When I think back to the "punk" years of techno, i.e. the early 90s, one would have said that this is techno. However, what was then simply called all techno was quite quickly divided into various subgroups of the techno genre. I composed and produced the track "Another Day Another Night" around 10 years ago together with DJ Klubbingman. 🔊 🔊 🔊 meine langjährige Weggefährting auf Steem @chriddi fragte mich unter meinem letzten Beitrag, als ich meine neue Hands Up Single "See You Again" vorstellte, ob dieser Sound überhaupt noch Techno sei. Das ist eine gute Frage. Wenn ich mich an die "Punk" - Jahre des Techno, also Anfang der 90er, zurückerinnere, hätte man sich gesagt, daß das Techno ist. Allerdings wurde das, was damals einfach alles Techno genannt wurde, recht schnell in diverse Untergruppen des Genre Techno aufgeteilt. The melodies of the synthie hooks are usually kept very cheerful - almost obtrusively cheerful ;-). This has brought this style among other things probably also the name "Fairground Techno". 🔊 🔊 🔊 Hands Up Music besteht ja meistens aus einem recht einfach Kick - Off Bass ( auch Und-Bass genannt) genannt Gefüge. Die Melodien der Synthie Hook sind meist sehr fröhlich gehalten - ja fast schon aufdringlich fröhlich. ;-) Das hat diesem Style u.a. wohl auch den Namen Kirmes Techno eingebracht. ___________________________________________________________________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjZ2zwXbta4 However, this sound has dominated the dance charts in German-speaking countries for most of the 2000s. When I check my Spotify and Youtube analytics, I can see that this sound also seems to be very popular in Scandinavia and Poland. The hit by Cascada is probably known by most. Surely one, if not the anthem of this genre. 🔊 🔊 🔊 Allerdings hat dieser Sound fast die ganzen 2000er Jahre im deutsch - sprachigen Raum die Dance Charts dominiert. Wenn ich meine Spotify und Youtube Analysen checke, kann ich sehen, daß dieser Sound auch in Skandinavien und Polen sehr beliebt zu sein scheint. Den Hit von Cascada dürften die meisten kennen.
