A lot of people have goals and dreams in their lives but one thing or the other always stops them from accomplishing those things they wish to achieve. Presented below are some of the things that can hinder progress and stop people from achieving their goals and dreams. Many people do not have confidence in themselves. Such people are not able to say to themselves, *“I can and I will definitely make my dreams come true.”* If you have little or no self belief, if you don't have confidence in yourself, your goals and dreams may never be accomplished. Some people actually have the belief that they possess what it takes to make their goals and dreams come true; however they lack the strong desire, drive, and perseverance to actualize their dreams. Due to financial problems, many people abandon their dreams and make little or no effort to get financial aid with which to make their goals and dreams come true. Some people have negative mindset towards their dreams. Some also believe that it's impossible to achieve their dreams, so they abandon the idea and spend the rest of their lives with broken dreams and aspirations. Some people have very good intentions to achieve whatever it is they hope to accomplish, but they are not totally committed to making it happen. If for instance you want to get better grades at school, then you must set targets for yourself. It is highly important that you set up precise objectives and these objectives must be in line with your goals and dreams you intend to achieve. Ensure that the goals you have set are things that are achievable, If they are not it will be able very difficult to achieve and may discourage you. These goals have to be measurable and there has to be a time period within which to accomplish the goals. By setting a particular date, your motivation to take action will be high. Your set objectives will act as guides for you so that your goals can be achieved in due time. After setting your objectives, you must now establish the strategies you will use to realize these objectives. The plans you make have to be realistic and be certain that they can really take place. As soon as you are ready to take action you should start immediately to implement your plans. Take things easy, there is no need to rush and you must not over use yourself. Do everything step by step and accomplish one goal before you take up another one. If you try to accomplish so many things at the same time, you may be overpowered by the amount of work you have to do. Additionally, as you implement your plans you have to constantly check to see if you are making progress or not. If you find that the actions you are taking are bringing you progress then carry on with that course of action. But if you have reason to believe that you are not making any progress, then you need to change your plans and do things differently from first. You should never be discouraged; you can continue changing your plans until you accomplish your goals and dreams. To succeed in life you need to have strong determination and endurance. You need to have the desire to achieve at all cost. If at any point you feel you are getting tired of chasing your goals and dreams that is when you need to take some time off. If you have came across a lot of failures and you feel you can no longer go on then take a rest. Go over the objectives as well as the actions you plan to take in order to accomplish your goals. If you find areas where changes need to be made, do not refuse to make them. One thing you have to keep in mind is that there are several ways or processes of achieving a certain goal. If you are finding it difficult achieving your goals and dreams, there is no need to give up. Somebody somewhere has achieved that goal that you are trying to accomplish. If the goal seems extremely difficult, one thing you can do is to follow the example others have set. You need to follow footsteps of successful individuals who share similar dreams. You need to learn one or two from them to succeed because they have been through the process. Find out those things that they have done and do it yourself. It is common knowledge that the attitude an individual have towards anything or anyone can make or may that person as regards living a fulfilling and happy life. If you live all your life with a negative mind-set, you will never accomplish your goals and dreams. The importance of having a positive attitude cannot be overemphasized. No one with a negative outlook will ever make it in life. Once you are able to maintain a positive attitude all the time, laugh and smile more, it will be a lot easier for you to achieve your goals and aspirations. You also need to be well-organized. Just as you create time for eating, resting, and seeing the doctor, you must also create time specifically for achieving your goals. If you truly believe that it is important that you achieve your goals and dreams, then while working at it, ensure that nothing distracts you. So after identifying the things you would like to accomplish in life, start working hard towards them and you must never leave them until you achieve your dreams. You will be happy that you eventually achieved your goals and dreams. Even if you fail you must keep trying until you succeed. Achieving your dreams won't come on a silver platter, supposing achieving dreams is that easy everybody would have achieve their dreams. But people decide to give easily on thier dreams.
