That must be yellow corn.
At first I thought that it was white corn judging by how smooth its cob is. Now, this is one snack popular amongst the Ibibios who live in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Someone argued that no one roasts corn elsewhere in the world. He believes that this delicacy is indigenous to us. I'm glad to see that it transcends beyond the Ibibio border.

It's not surprising given that some geographical part of Cameroon and Nigeria were together once before the separation.

We do combine roasted corn with African pear. Have you tried this yet? It is quite delicious as well.

Roast corn with pear ?, I haven’t tried but next time will try it .You are right Nigeria and Cameroon had boder issue over the Bakassi peninsula but serious intervention from UN and order personalities .koffe Annan play a great role in the bakasdi conflict between Cameroon and Nigeria .But at the end of the day it was handed to Cameroon as the rightful owner.

True.
Since we lived close to each other, there are chances that there will be cultural integration. I'm sure that there are other foods and outfits we might share as well.

What a beautiful and heartfelt post!
Reading through your detailed account of the day truly reflects how caring, responsible, and hardworking you are. From waking up as early as 3:00 AM to work on your master’s dissertation to managing all household duties with dedication—your routine is incredibly inspiring.
The way you prepared a fresh vegetable salad for your kids after enjoying the early morning sunlight shows your love and attentiveness towards your family. The pictures of the food were delightful and made the experience feel even more real. The natural fruit cocktail you recommended sounds refreshing and healthy—it’s great that you support local businesses like this!Your afternoon work on the small farm beside your home and harvesting fresh corn was impressive. What touched me most was how you spent the evening roasting corn with your husband and children around the firewood kitchen. Those simple, shared family moments are truly priceless, and I could feel the warmth and joy through your words and photos.Despite the busyness of the day, you managed to make it fulfilling and joyful. It’s amazing how you balance your academic goals, household responsibilities, and family bonding time so gracefully.
