Hello Steemit it's a bright day at my end and I am excited to be here steeming again. So I looked back at some of the minor farm activities I had done and felt motivated to inspire someone not to minimise little efforts and humble beginnings. Sometimes back , I rented a piece of land where I intended to cultivate maize and at the end of the day, the owner of the land did not let me cultivate there. I was fortunate to be given another piece of land by a very compassionate friend and at that time it was already late to cultivate maize. Given that I was very hopeful, I decided to cultivate the space that I was given and planted there. ![IMG-20220615-WA0046.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbrMLgTpsx7gAuwQRh9e1J3wB9AbGnBRWAkSEbVXJ6hSb/IMG-20220615-WA0046.jpg) The seedlings did not look healthy and at some point I felt discouraged especially as the space was not much. I thought I should just abandon the farm and concentrate on other things . After 4 months, I was able to go back there and harvest the corn that I could roast and boil and eat with my family and friends. I later went on vacation and on my return I decided to check on the farm so as to harvest the dry corn . Behold it was so healthy.

_{I had to grind the other one for corn flour.} _{I also soaked some corn in water to produce corn starch that can be prepared and eaten for breakfast} So while chatting with a next door neighbour recently, she complains to me about exorbitant prices of some food items around us. At this point I realized how blessed I was because I was not going to buy corn for sometime. First because it was late. secondly, the maize was not doing well and that is why I abandoned it in the farm for some time before ever going back there only to harvest.
