## Restful day

Hello amazing steemians around the globe, I bring you warm greetings from my abode. I hope you all are doing well and welcome to my blog as I take you through on how I spent my Saturday.

I finally woke at 7am that's because I have been waking up and getting back to sleep continuously due to the severe hot weather we are experiencing lately. It has really affected my sleep. Infact it was my kids that forced me out of bed, so I prayed and went to the kitchen to prepare a light breakfast for us. ![IMG_20250315_085801_630.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXZVjrJbZzyR7fTiwf9AUXutbN5EXbNELU5HMCoym2uev/IMG_20250315_085801_630.jpg) I made a pot of acha pudding also known as hungry rice or fonio. It is a tiny nutritious grain native to west Africa. After making it I began to wonder how to make it cold quickly so that we can enjoy it as the weather is hot, so having a hot meal is going to frustrate us. I brought out a big bowl, added ice and water to it and placed the pot inside and stirred continuously for about 5 minutes and it was ready for consumption so I dished for my husband, the kids and myself and we had a lovely breakfast. When we were done, I did the dishes and clean up the kitchen.

Next chores to do was to lossen my hair and that of my daughter, washed and dried it, had our bath and went to to salon to make simple hairstyles that will allow fresh air and we can easily pour water on it.
