Hi Art Lovers, I watched a news and it affected me a lot. So, I'm going to talk about **Ocean Sole** social enterprise. I learned that flip-flops are widely used in Kenya. Therefore, these slippers cause a lot of waste. This situation causes pollution problems in Kenya's beaches and waterways. This project is also an **employment project**. So, how is both cleaning and protection and employment carried out? **Julie Church** founded Ocean Sole to both clean the beaches and create jobs. With Ocean Sole, people are encouraged to collect flip-flops waste and create new products from these wastes. This initiative reported **recycling more than 500,000** flip-flops last year. More than **1000 Kenyans** have benefited from this initiative and it has been a regular source of income for about 100 people in bad economic conditions, which I think is quite successful.

--- **Francis Mutua**, the **flip flop artist** of this initiative, says that **art will save the world**. Unfortunately, the flip-flops of billions of people around the world find themselves in the oceans. The artist states that the flip-flops arrived off the coast of Kenya with the tides of the Indian Ocean. Production works as follows. The collected slippers are washed, then some sanding is done to make them smooth. And the products created. Especially animal figures are made and it is said that about 7 animals can be made per day.
