## Photos I Took of The Historical Buildings
in Salisbury, Wiltshire
Hello. This post was originally a duplicate post of my entry to the World of Xpilar Landscape contest #195. There was an error on the Steemit site and my original post disappeared. Then around 40 minutes later, my post appeared. During that time, I posted my entry to this contest two more times, creating two duplicate posts. I looked online and it appears there's no real way to delete posts on Steemit. Therefore, I decide to edit one of these duplicate posts to create this post about some of the many historical buildings and locations that my wife and I spotted during our trip to the historical city of Salisbury, Wiltshire.

I wanted to visit and take my wife the historical, medieval city of Salisbury, which she had never been to before. We were very impressed by the number of old, buildings, including half-timbered buildings. Many of the half-timbered buildings in Salisbury date back to the medieval period when the city was a busy market town and an important centre for trade. The church of St Thomas Becket was built in 1219 for the workmen who worked on Salisbury Cathedral, which was built between 1220 and 1258.

Salisbury Cathedral has the tallest spire in Britain (404 feet); it houses the best preserved of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta (1215); it has the oldest working mechanical clock in Europe (1386); it has the largest cathedral cloisters and cathedral close in Britain; the choir stalls are the largest and earliest complete set in Britain; the vault is the highest in Britain.
