Poco después de pronunciar estas palabras, los instrumentos detectaron la baliza del marcador, dejado un año atrás, por una sonda que había explorado el lugar. El pequeño instrumento parecido a una lanza se encontraba clavado en la pared de roca al lado de lo que parecía una gran grieta en el muro. —Pero, ¿qué es eso? —preguntó Ronald, incrédulo, mientras estabilizaba la nave frente a la gran grieta. —Que te parece a ti que es —dijo Victoria. —Una muestra de que la vida se abre lugar en cualquier parte. Frente a ellos, en la grieta que se proyectaba varias decenas de metros en vertical hacia arriba y abajo, se asomaba lo que parecía ser la cabeza, esculpida en la roca, de algún extraño animal con cuernos en la frente, un par de grandes ojos saltones y una descomunal y abierta boca de pez. —Me aproximaré —dijo Ronald, a la vez que guiaba la nave más cerca de la enorme escultura, cuyas dimensiones se fueron haciendo cada vez más monumentales. —Esta cosa es inmensa, debe tener al menos diez metros de altura. —Quiero que te aproximes a la boca e ilumines su interior —dijo Victoria. —Por qué, crees que hay algo en ella —interrumpió Ronald. —Creo haber visto algo en el video de la sonda. La nave apuntó sus reflectores al interior de la enorme boca de unos seis metros de apertura, y un largo túnel se iluminó en su interior. —A eso me refería —dijo Victoria, con sus ojos puestos en el profundo túnel. —Pero eso, ¿qué se supone que sea?, una entrada a algún sitio —dijo Ronald, incrédulo. —Que tal si lo averiguamos… La pequeña nave se introdujo en la boca de la criatura y avanzaron por un amplio túnel ovalado que parecía agrandarse más a medida que avanzaban. Tras recorrer varias decenas de metros en lo que parecía ser una ruta que los llevaba cada vez más profundo en aquellas aguas, llegaron al final del túnel, encontrándose en lo que según los instrumentos era una enorme cavidad inundad en la roca, los deficientes instrumentos no eran capaces de determinar el tamaño o forma de la galería, pues excedían sus limitaciones y las luces de los reflectores se perdían en la oscuridad del lugar. —¿¡Pero qué demonios es esto!? —exclamó Victoria. —Debe ser el hogar de alguna antigua civilización —dijo Ronald sorprendido. —Creo que continuaré avanzando de frente a ver que encontramos Continuaron avanzando en medio de una absoluta oscuridad, hasta que los sensores señalaron la presencia de una gran estructura a menos de cuatrocientos metros al frente de ellos, no parecía ser la pared opuesta del recinto pues la galería parecía continuar extendiéndose en el vacío tras ella. —Es una gran estructura, me parece que está en medio de la galería —dijo Ronald, observando los monitores. —Aproxímate a ella lentamente —continuó Victoria. Avanzaron y los reflectores de la nave se toparon con lo que parecía una estructura formada por columnas superpuestas, separadas por plataformas, sobre las que se encontraban construcciones de diferentes formas y tamaños, era con ver un gigantesco pastel de muchas capas, que crecía hasta donde alcanzaban a iluminar los reflectores. En medio de la oscuridad, el intenso blanco de la luz de los reflectores, destacaba que las estructuras más pequeñas que se encontraban en las plataformas estaban decoradas en colores y había un sinfín de estatuas con criaturas de innumerables formas y tamaños. —No notas algo extraño en todo esto —dijo Ronald. —Lo encuentro muy limpio, muy artificial. —Claro que es artificial, fue creado por alguna forma de vida que no conocemos, y esta limpio, pues no existen formas de vida microscópicas que puedan habitar en ellas como los corales o algas —dijo Victoria, segura de su descubrimiento. Siguieron ascendiendo, contemplando las rarezas que se asomaban en cada plataforma, hasta que repentinamente, una cegadora luz, iluminó toda la galería, mostrando descomunales grabados en sus paredes que parecían formar un domo esférico de poco más de kilómetro y medio de diámetro. Y en uno de los grabados justo frente a ellos, al otro lado de la enorme estructura central, flanqueado por lo que parecían dos gigantescas bestias alienígenas, en gigantesca tipografía de Heracles, un colorido y vistoso letrero rezaba “Mundo de las Bestias Marinas”. —¿¡Pero que clase de mierda es esta!? —exclamó Ronald cubriendo sus ojos con la palma de su mano, para atenuar el repentino amanecer en la cueva. —No entiendo; ¿qué está pasando?, ¿qué es todo esto …? —dijo Victoria en tono desairado, mientras cubría también sus ojos, con la palma de su mano. Entonces una señal de audio entró por el comunicador de la nave. —Están invadiendo propiedad privada, este planeta pertenece a la corporación “Mundos Maravillosos”, por favor mantenga su posición, que serán escoltados por un dron fuera del planeta —dijo una voz, en perfecto español de Heracles. —¿Qué es todo esto?, se supone que estas son unas ruinas alienígenas —dijo Victoria aproximándose a la consola de comunicaciones. —Unas ruinas que… —se escuchó decir a la voz del comunicador, mientras parecía ahogar una carcajada, mientras al fondo se escuchaba un coro de risas, que debían provenir de algunas otras personas que escuchaban la conversación. —Aquí se está construyendo el nuevo parque turístico de la corporación “Mundos Maravillosos”, actualmente la construcción está paralizada por cuarentena, a causa de una epidemia de influenza, pero debemos reanudar labores en unos treinta días. They continued ascending, contemplating the oddities that loomed on each platform, until suddenly, a blinding light illuminated the entire gallery, revealing huge engravings on its walls that seemed to form a spherical dome a little more than a mile in diameter. And on one of the engravings right in front of them, on the other side of the huge central structure, flanked by what looked like two gigantic alien beasts, in giant Heracles typeface, a colorful and eye-catching sign read "World of Sea Beasts." -What kind of crap is this?! -Ronald exclaimed, covering his eyes with the palm of his hand to dim the sudden dawn in the cave. -I don't understand; what's going on, what's all this...? said Victoria in a snub-nosed tone, as she covered her eyes, too, with the palm of her hand. Then an audio signal came through the ship's communicator. -You are invading private property, this planet belongs to the corporation "Mundos Maravillosos", please hold your position, you will be escorted by a drone out of the planet -said a voice, in perfect Heracles Spanish. -What is all this, these are supposed to be alien ruins," said Victoria approaching the communications console. -Some ruins that..." the voice of the communicator was heard to say, as he seemed to stifle a laugh, while in the background a chorus of laughter could be heard, which must have come from some other people listening to the conversation. -Here is being built the new tourist park of the corporation "Wonderful Worlds", at the moment the construction is paralyzed by quarantine, because of an influenza epidemic, but we should resume work in about thirty days.
