My name is Fatima and I'm on steemit as @fatjav88. Today I will discuss about importance of obstetrical ultrasound. I'm working as a sonologist so I decided to discuss with you little bit that what is obstetrical USG. It helps to detect anomalies in the fetus, problems related to the uterus, ovaries, and vagina . It specifically provides information about a fetus well well-being, for example, their growth, gestational age, placenta development, an amniotic fluid index which is called AFI, fetal cardiac activity, anomalies of fetuses, and gender reveal and many other genetic syndromes Routinely one patient came for an OBS Scan to know whether she was in condition of conceiving or not. I did ultrasound scanning in transverse and longitudinal planes. ![1739820778138.jpeg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmfKw1TB1JJbFTVHsTW4Zn3yfnEius7nmsemkg8wSLKxYS/1739820778138.jpeg) So in the transverse plane uterus shows a double decidual sac having decidual activity showing a fetal pole and yolk sac noted. There were some cardiac flickers appreciated so the fetus was alive. So I took measurements for further evaluation for the detection of exact gestational age. I took CRL(crown to rump length). It was about average gestational age was 8 weeks 1 day. Clicked a computerized image for patient. At the spot, The mother was very happy and shining it made me happy too. So an adorable and emotional scene. Then I wrote report of that patient for further follow up USG scans.
