Se solo potesse accadere.../ If only it could happen...

La gente si è lamentata dell'inefficacia del governo nel risolvere problemi reali e ho anche sperimentato la frustrazione di dipendere da quegli ingrati.

Anno dopo anno, mandato dopo mandato, la gente soffre, aggrappandosi a deboli speranze di una vita migliore, mentre i funzionari governativi volano in giro per il mondo, acquisendo proprietà di cui i loro pronipoti non si preoccuperanno nemmeno. Sperperano fondi pubblici in lussi personali, contraggono prestiti enormi per alimentare le loro abitudini di spesa sconsiderate e mandano i loro figli in luoghi privilegiati, lontani dalle lotte dei cittadini comuni.

E sembra che la facciano franca con tutte le loro cattive azioni e continuino a prosperare.

Ma se mi fosse data l'opportunità di approvare una legge, sarebbe in merito a questa inutile sofferenza.

Ogni anno, questi funzionari cercano di aggiornare i loro stipendi. Cercano di renderli 100 volte il salario minimo. Il più delle volte, ci riescono. E questo senza contare i milioni di dollari che si appropriano indebitamente.

E ho pensato: perché non aiutarli?

Ogni anno, i cittadini sono tenuti a decidere gli stipendi di ogni funzionario governativo. Se non vi piace quello che ha fatto nei suoi mesi in carica, bene, dategli semplicemente uno stipendio più basso. Se vi piace quello che ha fatto, bene, dategli semplicemente uno stipendio più alto.

Ora, come funzionerà?

Ogni cittadino avente diritto di voto sarà costretto a scaricare un'app in cui può dare recensioni di ogni funzionario governativo a ogni livello di governo (locale, statale e federale) e a ogni livello di governo (legislativo, esecutivo e giudiziario).

Per la valutazione del governo locale, è richiesta la posizione dell'individuo per determinare in quale governo locale risiede l'individuo. In questo modo, il presidente o il funzionario del governo locale possono essere correttamente determinati e valutati.

A livello statale, i residenti e i cittadini di uno stato valuterebbero i funzionari statali e a livello federale, ogni cittadino ha diritto a valutarli e decidere i loro stipendi.

Verrebbe stabilito un lasso di tempo specifico per ogni cittadino per fare le sue recensioni e dare i suoi suggerimenti per i propri stipendi. I risultati vengono raccolti in tutti gli stati e i risultati medi verrebbero visualizzati nell'app al termine del periodo di tempo. L'importo medio dello stipendio di ogni funzionario inserito dagli utenti/cittadini sarebbe il loro nuovo stipendio.

Poiché un mandato dura quattro anni, le recensioni di ogni funzionario vengono raccolte e se un funzionario riceve recensioni negative ogni anno, gli verrebbe vietato di candidarsi per una carica in futuro.

Un ricorso può essere concesso in base al fatto che il funzionario sia colpevole di un crimine efferato, se ha prestato servizio per meno di due mandati e se ha contribuito attivamente allo sviluppo della società.

Un sistema come questo potrebbe rivoluzionare la governance. Sapendo che il loro lavoro e le loro buste paga dipendono direttamente dall'approvazione pubblica, i funzionari avrebbero finalmente una ragione per servire seriamente le persone. Sarebbero motivati a conquistare il cuore dei cittadini e, se lo facessero, verrebbero ricompensati di conseguenza.

Se solo questo potesse diventare realtà...

People have complained about the ineffectiveness of the government in solving real problems and I have also experienced the frustration from depending on those ingrates.

Year after year, tenure after tenure, the people suffer, holding onto faint hopes for a better life, while government officials jet around the globe, acquiring properties their great-grandchildren won’t even care about. They squander public funds on personal luxuries, take out massive loans to fuel their reckless spending habits, and send their children to privileged places far removed from the struggles of ordinary citizens.

And it seems like they get away with all their evil deeds and keep prospering.

But if I were given the opportunity to pass any law, it would be in regard to this needless suffering.

Each year, these officials try to update their salaries. They try to make it 100x the minimum wage. Most times, they succeed. And that's not including the millions of dollars they embezzle.

And I thought; why not help them?

Each year, the citizens are required to decide the salaries of each government official. If you don't like what he's done in his months in office, good, just give him a lower salary. If you like what he's done, good, just give him a higher salary.

Now, how is this going to work?

Each citizen that's eligible to vote would be made to download an app where they can give reviews of each government official at each level of government— local, state and federal, and each tier of government— legislative, executive and judiciary.

For the local government assessment, the location of the individual is required to determine which local government the individual resides in. That way, the chairman or local government official can be properly determined and assessed.

At the state level, residents and citizens of a state would assess the state officials and at the federal level, every citizen is eligible to rate them and decide their salaries.

A specific timeframe would be set aside for every citizen to make their reviews and give their suggestions for their salaries. The results are collected across the states and the average results would be displayed in the app after the time frame ends. The average salary amount of each official that users/citizens have inputed would be their new salary.

Since one term in office is four years, the reviews of each official is collated and if an official has bad reviews each year, he would be banned from ever running for a position in office ever again.

An appeal can be granted based on whether the official is guilty of any heinous crime, if he has served less than two terms and if he has contributed actively to the development of the society.

A system like this could revolutionize governance. Knowing their jobs and paychecks depend directly on public approval, officials would finally have a reason to serve the people earnestly. They’d be motivated to win the hearts of the citizens—and be rewarded accordingly if they do.

If only this could just become reality…..
