Youth in Action: NEW BKD and YES-O Elect Student Leaders Ready to Lead

In a big school like ours, we need to choose great leaders that has a nice advocacy. Leaders that will help the admin of the school to have peace and order and to excel academically.

Last school year, we already elected the Supreme Student Government. And last week, we had an election Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) and the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers. We dont have classes in two periods, instead we just stayed on our advisory class and facilitated the election. We just used a platform made by our School IT. The said election marked as the beginning of a new chapter and served as their training ground to be the best leaders in the future and to train themselves in promoting environmental sustainability and a drug-free community.

The YES-O election brought and helped the learners to become an eco-conscious individual eager to lead in and outside the school. The chosen Eco-Warriors are set to lead the school in one school year. They can facilitate sa clean-up drives, tree planting activities, recycling campaigns, and even scool wide education on climate change and how to be responsible in our community. The chosen leaders will be important in strengthening how to become an eco-friendly individual.

Meanwhile, the BKD will be commiting and promote a safe, drug-free school environment. They can have drug abuse campaigns, they can also facilitate a peer education programs, and could partner with comnmunity stakeholders to build awareness on mental health, The stakeholders is indeed a great help. The future leaders will aim to have a healthy environment.

Both organizations are essentials in shaping a good learner, not only a learner but a great individual in our community as well.
