Before I begin with this post, I would like to know the answer to this "Is jungle justice the way out?".
Once upon a time, my town had a reported case of a stolen machine (motorcycle), which became unbearable in the town. People became so scared of buying a motorcycle or parking their motorcycle outside their compound for fear of it being stolen.
Whenever a motorcycle is stolen, the issue would be reported to the closest police station, but nothing would happen as police would just forget about the case after two days of investigation.
The villagers in the town then decide to take the law into their own hands since the police have failed in securing the town from armed robbers and unnecessary killings in the town. On a cold night when everyone was in their room sleeping due to the cold weather, some thieves came to steal a motorcycle and other things in the town and they were caught.
This time around, the thieves were caught red-handed and were taken to a nearby bush where the people burnt them alive. Before the police could arrive at the place, the thieves had already been burned to ashes, ending the theft in the community.
