Kishan, the player representing Jharkhand in domestic cricketer, skipped the last matches of the tournament, which was his consecutive game failure. As well, Chahar and Iyer had been missing too. Iyer gave lower back and groin problems as his reasons for missing the practice. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stressed that central contract players should be made available for domestic tournaments at all costs. Jharkhand with the one win out of the six matches played and having accumulated 10 points, took on Rajasthan at home. Prior to India's tour of South Africa, when Kishan had asked for a break, he has been training along with his captain from Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, in Baroda. Mumbai had already made it to the quarter-finals of the Ranji trophy led by Iyer. Last day of the league they hosted Assam at the home venue without their captain Iyer.
