# Introduction

I'm glad to resurface on this community to do my achievement 2 task having noticed that my achievement 1 task has been verified, thus giving me a go-ahead to continue with the subsequent tasks. Achievement 2 has to do with the keys which aid many operations on the platform. It's time I get down to business by narrating all you need to know about steemit keys

### All my keys have been retrieved by me

The answer is yes, immediately I signed up, my coach made sure all my keys were available and retrieved so I won't be limited on some activities on the platform.

### I know each of those key functions and restrictions

I think I do, we all know that without a key, it is impossible to access a particular thing. Steemit has it's own very important keys, I'll just list out and explain the functions of each key * Posting key * Owner's key * Public key * Active key * Memo key ***1. Posting key***: posting key is a key which enhances all social activities on steemit, it is the most used key as it is used to vote, comment, resteem a post. It also aids login to the platform. ***2. Owner's key***: owner's key as the name implies is used only by the owner of an account. It is not used often unless in cases of emergency or alert pertaining to one's account. Owner's key is used only at crucial times when an account is tempered with needing change of keys. Owner's key is security conscious and helps other keys to function properly, it could be said to be the boss of all other keys. ***3. Active key***: active key is used to carry out stronger operations on the platform. Activities like conversion of steem dollar, powering up or down, updating of profile and casting of votes. ***4. Public key***: public key is not a really complex key, infact it is very simplest key, public key appears to be used on the profile and also aids transaction procedures on the platform. It is not safety guaranteed. ***5. Memo key***: memo key is use for encryption and decryption of memos in the course of transferring assets from one platform to another or within

### How I plan to keep my master password

I've decided to keep my master password very safe because failure to do so might lead to disastrous consequences on the platform. I actually got it as a PDF file on my device and further linked it to my mail. Since my device is well secured, I'm sure it's safe there. Incase my device gets lost, I've laminated my master password and documented it.

### I can now transfer my steem token to another steem user account

Sure! it's actually very simple to carry out, below are the steps to a successful transfer; **Step 1** I logged in to my wallet, under the steem heading, I clicked the drop down menu beside my liquid steem coins. I also wrote out the number of steem I was about to transfer in the 2nd box as you can see below **Step 3** This took me to another page where I confirmed my transfer, I can actually make corrections at this stage. ### I know how to power up my steem

Of course I do, it's quite simple too. Take a look at the steps **Step 1** I logged in to my wallet, under the steem heading, I clicked the drop down menu beside my liquid steem coins. Many options were displayed of which I clicked **power up**, it's actually the 3rd option on the box.
