When Beyonce sang brown skin girl, she was referring to me. Talking about my number one body fan is a significant flex for me. What is melanin popping skin without a skincare product done with a proper routine? As a lady I have my go to skincare routine, naturally I have a healthy skin and for years I never saw the need for skincare product, not to talk of having routine, late last year, I went for a movie shoot and I realized that my skin started reacting to the environment, I had hyper-pigmentation and discoloration alongside some face acne. Initially I thought after the shoot it would all vanish and I would have my skin back to normal but it worsened, that was when I made researches and realized that even the healthiest looking skin needed some skin care product alongside a proper routine to keep it glowing and radiant, looking super healthy, so what is this skincare routine that has kept Pandora diary looking like fresh baked bread, some people call it skin like milk. # What is your go-to skincare routine, and which products do you use regularly? # ![IMG_5350.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaLng1F6jSePXwXHfZya3LSEJKxAei3wKP2tjxHQeMyUY/IMG_5350.jpg) My go-to skincare routine is the full Korean skincare routine, which I have followed for the past 5 months, and since then, my skin has been judiciously taken care of. For this Korean routine, I use the following products: Cleanser – When bathing Toner – 1-2 minutes Essence – 2-3 minutes Vitamin C – 1-2 minutes Serums – 1-2 minutes Retinol – 1-2 minutes Moisturizer – 3-4 minutes Eye cream – 3-4 minutes Sunscreen 10 – 15 minutes I layer my products between morning (AM) and Night (PM), and that’s how long I have to wait between each skincare step. As seen above and below, this is how the layers of my skincare products are used; # MY DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE # Morning care: My usual wake-up time is 5:11 a.m. My alarm never misses that; it is shower time. I get into that bathroom, my water-based cleanser is my first go-to. I apply it gently on my face to remove dirt and excess accumulated oil overnight. Now that I am out of the bathroom, my hydrating toner is next. I use this before my essence (this helps to brighten my face and helps the other products absorb faster). Now comes the serum, followed by my moisturizer and, finally, the sunscreen. This is most useful for me. # Evening care: My night princess, at night, I use my double-cleanser method. I start with my oil base cleanser, which removes the sunscreen and, if any makeup was used, it cleanses it properly, after which I use the water based cleanser to rinse away any residue. This evening process is more relaxing because you aren't rushing off anywhere. When I am out of the bathroom, I use my toner again, followed by essence, my niacinamide serum, the retinol, and finally, my night moisturizer. Bear in mind that every week, I exfoliate and use my face mask; this helps to remove dead skin and purify my skin. # What are the benefits of using this cosmetic product? The benefits of using these skincare products cannot be overemphasized: softer, clearer, and brighter skin. I notice my skin is far less dehydrated during the day; no more dullness and dry skin patches. Which one do you prefer and why? The natural cosmetic product is also referred to as an “ORGANIC PRODUCT”. They are called natural because it is made to believe that they are done by using natural resources, like shea butter, plant oil, seeds, etc., while the chemical-based ones are cosmetic product that has some added substances to advance their effectiveness and make them last longer. Some people call them inorganic products. If I were to choose between the two products, I would choose the latter. Chemical based products, have proven to be more effective and result driven, from research and personal experience, the cosmetic claimed to be natural, has some substances added to them, and they don’t last, they easily deform out, and most times people react to this products, because it wasn’t well combined. # Do you think the regular use of cosmetic products can damage our skin? If yes, then share their drawbacks. I think that every human living on planet Earth should adopt the regular use of cosmetic products and have a routine. Even the most beautiful woman on earth needs cosmetic products to enhance and maintain her beauty. Peoples skin only get damaged when they bleach, there is a difference when using proven and dermatologically tested products and purchasing just any cosmetic products, and remember using cosmetic products is an added advantage to your hygiene, using it doesn't make you less of yourself, it doesn't mean that you don't have confidence in your skin, rather it shows that you are one of those who cherish their skin and would love to maintain it. All you need to do is to know what works for you when using these products and stick to it. That is the power of daily self-care.
