A fire has struck Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, again. A wooden stilt house belonging to Maimunah Amin (65), a poor resident of Damakawan Village, Gandapura District, was completely destroyed by fire around 12:50 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) on Sunday (July 20, 2025).
There were no fatalities in the incident, but Maimunah Amin, a farmer and plantation owner, lost her home and all her belongings. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The victim, Maimunah Amin, accompanied by Mukhsal Mina (32), family members, and residents, said she was sleeping and in poor health.
"I was asleep when I suddenly woke up and saw a bright light in the house. I saw flames on the roof on the left side of the west front of the house, so I asked for help from residents," she said.
The grandmother's voice was heard by a family member, Mansurni (27), a construction worker, who was sitting in front of the house behind the victim's. Mansurni immediately ran to the victim's house and saw the fire in the front corner, which was rapidly spreading.
The young man immediately called for help from local residents, who immediately came to provide assistance and called for assistance from firefighters, Mansurni explained at the scene.

A North Aceh fire truck followed from the Krueng Mane Post.
The fire spread rapidly, making the victim's house beyond saving. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters immediately doused the remaining flames until they extinguished them.
