**English** The stars adorned the cold night. The elegant young woman walked aimlessly. The people on the street were running away from her. The dress, part of the face and hands were covered with blood. The girl had a satisfied expression. The sirens were heard closer and closer. The two friends gave each other a long hug at the Madrid-Barajas airport. Both studied together at the university of their country of origin, but left it when the crisis of the dictatorship intensified. They lost contact, until three months ago, when Veronica Gonzalez received a friend request on facebook. It was Sabrina Echeverria. Sabrina had emigrated to Spain two years ago and seemed to be doing very well. Every day they would connect to talk. It was she who convinced her to go to Europe. She transferred money to her to speed up the passport process. It was the perfect opportunity to rebuild her life. She was impressed when she arrived at the house, located in the Chamartin District, one of the most expensive areas of Madrid. They were received by Sabrina's boyfriend, a Spanish man, ten years older than them. For several hours they remembered the times at the university. They ate, joked and enjoyed several glasses of wine before going to sleep. It was five o'clock in the morning when they went into the room to wake her up. Her friend told her that they should hurry, that she should get dressed quickly. On the way no one spoke. Until they parked in an area of the promenade the delights. Two Moroccans opened the door, ordering Veronica out of the vehicle. She didn't understand what was going on. She didn't have a chance to react. She was forcibly removed. With her mouth covered, they drove her into one of the buildings. An unpleasant-looking Romanian handed Sabrina a sash of bills. *She looks like a wild mare, I'll tame her.* It was the first day in hell for the young immigrant. She had been sold by her friend to a prostitution ring. Razvan was the name of the owner of that despicable place. Veronica was resisting in vain. That day she was savagely beaten and raped by the Romanian and the men who work for him. Two weeks later she gave up. While her wounds healed, she was forced to work as a webcam girl for eighteen hours a day. A month later, she was ready to attend to the clients who frequented the site. Every night she cried, thinking about everything, her family, how to escape from that place, the betrayal of her friend. *Fuck! The police! Move quickly, come on, we have to leave through this door!* Razvan ordered the four girls he managed to get out of the building, it was a police raid that dismantled the prostitution network in the area. They got on a truck that was transporting seafood. Hope of being rescued was dashed. They were transported to Malaga and locked up in a house in La Palmilla, one of the most dangerous areas.

El vestido, parte del rostro y manos estaba cubierto de sangre. La chica mostraba una expresión de satisfacción. Las sirenas se escuchaban cada vez más cerca. Las dos amigas se dieron un prolongado abrazo en el aeropuerto de Madrid – Barajas. Ambas estudiaron juntas en la universidad de su país de origen, pero la abandonaron cuando se intensifico la crisis de la dictadura. Perdieron el contacto, hasta hace tres meses, cuando Verónica González recibió una solicitud de amistad en facebook. Era Sabrina Echeverría. Sabrina había emigrado a España hace dos años y parecía irle muy bien. Todos los días se conectaban para conversar. Fue ella, quien la convenció de que tenía que ir a Europa. Le transfirió dinero para que agilizara los trámites del pasaporte. Era la oportunidad perfecta para rehacer su vida. Estaba impresionada cuando llego a la casa, ubicada en el Distrito de Chamartín, una de las zonas más caras de Madrid. Las recibió el novio de Sabrina, un español diez años mayor que ellas. Por varias horas recordaron los tiempos en la universidad. Comieron, bromearon y disfrutaron de varias copas de vino antes de irse a dormir. Eran las cinco de la mañana cuando entraron a la habitación para despertarla. La amiga le dijo que debían darse prisa, que se vistiera rápido. En el trayecto nadie hablo. Hasta que estacionaron en una zona de el paseo las delicias. Dos marroquíes abrieron la puerta, ordenando a Verónica a bajar del vehículo. Ella no entendía lo que ocurría. No tuvo oportunidad de reaccionar. La sacaron a la fuerza. Con la boca tapada, la fueron conduciendo dentro de uno de los edificios. Un rumano de aspecto desagradable le entrego una faja de billetes a Sabrina. *Parece una yegua salvaje, me encargare de domarla.* Era el primer día en el infierno para el joven inmigrante. Había sido vendida por la amiga a una red de prostitución. Razvan era el nombre del dueño de aquel denigrante lugar. Verónica se resistía en vano. Ese día fue salvajemente golpeada y violada por el rumano junto a los hombres que trabajan para él. A las dos semanas se dio por vencida. Mientras sanaban las heridas, fue obligada a trabajar como chica webcam dieciocho horas al día. Un mes después, ya estaba lista para atender los clientes que frecuentaban el lugar. Todas las noches lloraba, pensando en todo, su familia, como escapar de ese sitio, la traición de la amiga. *¡Joder! ¡La policía! ¡Muévanse rápido, vamos, hay que salir por esta puerta!* Les ordenaba Razvan a las cuatro chicas que logro sacar del edifico, era una redada policial que desmantelo la red de prostitución en la zona. Se montaron en un camión que trasportaba mariscos. La esperanza de ser rescatada se esfumo. Fueron transportadas a Málaga y encerradas en una casa en La palmilla, una de las zonas más peligrosas.

For a month the four women shared a room. One Bolivian, two Nigerians and Veronica, the Venezuelan. The Romanian took them out at midnight to take them to a shed. In a transport truck, there was a hidden compartment, where the four girls would enter. They would live there for the next few days, while the truck traveled to France. The journey was a nightmare. With a small hole for air to enter, they had to do the physiological needs and endure the stench. In the middle of nowhere, the truck stopped. At last they saw the light of day again and breathed fresh air. Goran, a Serbian, ex-war veteran, controlled prostitution in one of the French quarters. He looked at each of the women in detail, examined their teeth, touched their breasts. The girl from Bolivia was the thinnest, she looked sick. The Serbian made a sign. The Bolivian's body fell to the ground lifeless, she was shot in the head. Goran shouted some words in French to Razvan, who nodded and received an envelope with money. Veronica understood that the rest of her life would be hell on earth. She was in the hands of ruthless, mafia men who would not hesitate to kill her. She wouldn't resist. She would accept the fate that befell her. She started taking drugs, which the Serbs themselves provided, she would pay for with work. Cocaine helped her to endure the pain, the torment, the sadness. She became the clients' favourite. Some time later, because of her good behavior, Goran included her among the girls who could take care of VIP clients. In the prestigious restaurant Le Taillevent in Paris, there was the German businessman waiting for the luxury scort. Every two weeks he would travel to Paris on business, time that he took advantage of to request a meeting with the beautiful Latin girl he liked so much. It was the sixth time they would have dinner and then go to the hotel. Goran would assign her a driver who would also keep an eye on her. The German would gobble up the oysters, while Veronica enjoyed the wine and a salad. A laugh from five tables back made her turn around. She put the wine glass on the table. She told the German customer that she needed to go to the bathroom. She washed her hands, touched up her lips with the lipstick and did some cocaine. She walked past the German's table, went over to where two couples were having fun. It was Sabrina, the friend who betrayed her. Veronica grabbed the knife that was on the next table, sticking it multiple times in the traitor's face. The diners left the place in a panic. Sabrina's boyfriend tried to stop her, but Veronica bit him on the neck, until he tore a piece off. She, drenched in blood, held the knife. She had walked two streets until the police arrived. She was tired. It was time to put an end to everything. She walked over to the police, who saw something metal in her hand. A gunshot ended Veronica's life, in the star-studded Parisian night, it was the end of the nightmare.

Durante un mes compartieron una habitación las cuatro mujeres. Una boliviana, dos nigerianas y Verónica, la venezolana. El rumano las saco a medianoche para llevarlas hasta un galpón. En un camión de transporte, había un compartimiento oculto, donde entrarían las cuatro chicas. Los próximos días vivirían allí, mientras el camión viajaba para Francia. El trayecto fue una pesadilla. Con un pequeño orificio para que entrara aire, tenían que hacer las necesidades fisiológicas y aguantar el hedor. En medio de la nada, el camión se detuvo. Por fin vieron nuevamente la luz del día y respirar aire fresco. Goran, un serbio, ex combatiente de la guerra, controlaba la prostitución en uno de los barrios franceses. Fue mirando a cada una de las mujeres detalladamente, les examino los dientes, les toco los senos. La chica de Bolivia era la más delgada, parecía enferma. El serbio hizo una señal. El cuerpo de la boliviana cayó al suelo sin vida, le dispararon en la cabeza. Goran le grito algunas palabras en francés a Razvan, quien asintió con la cabeza y recibió un sobre con dinero. Verónica entendió que el resto de su vida sería el infierno en la tierra. Estaba en manos de hombres implacables, mafiosos que no dudarían en matarla. No se resistiría. Aceptaría el destino que le toco. Comenzó a consumir drogas, que los mismos serbios le proporcionaban, ella pagaría con trabajo. La cocaína la ayudaba soportar el dolor, el tormento, la tristeza. Fue convirtiéndose en la preferida de los clientes. Tiempo después, por su buen comportamiento, Goran la incluyo entre las chicas que podían atender a clientes vip. En el prestigioso restaurant Le Taillevent en Paris, estaba el empresario alemán esperando por la scort de lujo. Cada dos semanas viajaba a Paris por motivos de negocios, tiempo que aprovechaba para solicitar encontrarse con la hermosa chica latina que tanto le gustaba. Era la sexta ocasión que cenarían y luego irían al hotel. Goran le asignaba un chofer para vigilar. El alemán engullía las ostras, mientras Verónica disfrutaba del vino y una ensalada. Una risa proveniente de cinco mesas atrás la hizo voltear. Puso la copa de vino en la mesa. Le dijo al cliente alemán que necesitaba ir al baño. Se lavo las manos, retoco los labios con el lápiz labial y consumió cocaína. Paso de largo la mesa del alemán, fue hasta donde estaban dos parejas divirtiéndose. Era Sabrina, la amiga que la traiciono. Verónica agarro el cuchillo que estaba sobre la mesa de al lado, clavándolo múltiples veces en la cara de la traidora. Los comensales salieron espantados del lugar. El novio de Sabrina intento detenerla. Verónica lo mordió en el cuello, hasta arrancarle un pedazo. Ella, empapada en sangre sostenía el cuchillo. Había caminado dos calles hasta que llego la policía. Estaba cansada. Era el momento para poner punto y final a todo. Se dirigió hacia la policía, quienes vieron algo metálico en la mano. Un disparo acabo con la vida de la Veronica, en la noche parisina adornada de estrellas, fue el fin de la pesadilla.
