UNICEF undertook a program with the noble aim of raising public awareness about various social inequalities in South Asian countries, focusing on the care and education of children, addressing common misconceptions about children, and eliminating societal prejudices and ignorance. As part of this, UNICEF and donor countries took the initiative to create an awareness-raising animation cartoon series.
A new awakening against the prejudices of society was created. The main character of which is a 10–12-year-old girl named Meena. In the early 1990s, a team led by Neil Mackey, Head of UNICEF's Communications Department, created the character of Meena. The animated film Meena I saw is an educational film. Although the central character of the film is a girl of 10-12 years old, this film is mainly made to give a correct education to our parents and elders. Through the main character Meena, various prejudices of the society are removed, and the right education is provided.
Animation is very dear to children; they like any animation, especially when another child of the same age is seen on the screen.
So this animated film has been able to win the hearts of everyone, young and old. And the burning proof of that is that this animated film is dubbed in several languages of South Asia and broadcast on national channels of different countries.
The main reason for this choice was that each character of the animated film was simple, all the characters shown in the animated film are familiar to us. We see them around us, so when we see our character on the screen, we can easily adopt him.
The animated series gained more popularity due to its excellent presentation. The series did not look at illiteracy or superstition with hatred. Rather, if there was a mistake, it would be corrected with a smile.

Its popularity is still the same. It has become normal for Mina's picture to be on the cover page of various school notebooks, for everyone, Mia is the name of an ideal. Mia is the name of a reform; Mia is the name of entertainment.

Mention the challenges you had to go through while watching animated films. If there are no challenges, then tell us about the things that interested you in the film.
I have seen Meena animated many times. There are many episodes of this series. Each episode contains a different educational topic. Sometimes there is an important discussion on sanitation, sometimes there is an educational talk on how to get a proper education, and sometimes animations are shown on the need for children to play.
In short, each episode of this series contains educational topics. In addition, its simple presentation, its own way of speaking, all seem to be its own.
I don't feel like I am watching complicated animations, as if someone is teaching me. I am learning from there. These things are very enjoyable to me, so whenever I watch this series, it doesn't seem old to me. As if I too become a Meena.
