SLC-S25/W5 – Movie Snapshots | Animated Magic – Coco (2017)

This is your friend @isha-rehman and I am happy to be joining another beautiful week of the Steemit Movie Snapshots Contest now in Season 25 Week 5 themed "Animated Magic".Animated films have a special place in my heart and I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts on one that touched me deeply the masterpiece known as "Coco".

What Are Animated Movies?

Animated movies are a form of storytelling where characters and scenes are brought to life through drawings computer-generated images (CGI) clay models or even paper cutouts. Unlike live-action films where real actors perform on camera animated films use motion graphics to create an illusion of life.These movie are often rich in color imagination and emotion. They transce age and language allow us to explore impossible world feel deep emotion and understand complex theme in a visually engaging way. From childhood favorite to Oscar winning narrative animation has the power to stir our soul.

My Movied Pick – Coco (2017)

The animate film I selected for this contest is none other than "Coco" a Disney Pixar filmed direct by Lee Unkriched and Adrian Molina. Release in 2017 this movie is a heartwarming celebration of family tradition music and remembrance.The story center around Miguel Rivera a 12-year-old boy with a secret passion for music in a family where music is strictly forbidden due to a painful past. But Miguel refuse to give up on his dream. On Día de los Muerto (Day of the Dead) a magical and unexpect journey take him to the Land of the Dead where he searche for his great great grandfather a legendary musician and uncover the truth behind his family mysteriou history.This movie was not just a film for me it was an emotional journey filled with tears laughter and inspiration.

Age Group & Universal Appeal:

Coco is truly a film for all age groups.

1. Children: enjoy it for its vibrant animation adorable characters (like Dante the dog!) humorous skeletons and catchy songs.
2. Teenagers : can relate to Miguel’s dreams and the struggle of balancing passion with expectations.
3. Adults and elders : find deep meaning in the themes of memory legacy and the importance of honoring our ancestors.

This movie sparks conversations about intergenerational love cultural respect and how memories can keep someone alive in spirit. It makes both kids and adults think and feel.

What Interested Me Most?

So many elements of Coco fascinated and moved me:

The Music:

Music is the heartbeat of this film. The soundtrack is powerful especially the song “Remember Me” which carried so much emotional weight and meaning. When it played in the final scene I cried not out of sadness but because of the beautiful reminder of how love lives on in memory.

The Visual World:

The Land of the Dead was stunning! So colorful so detailed — it didn’t feel scary but joyful and vibrant. It challenged the usual ideas about death showing it as a continuation of life where people are remembered and celebrated.

The Story:

I adored the film's plot twists how Miguel’s hero wasn’t who he thought how family truths were revealed in touching ways and how forgiveness and love healed wounds from the past. It was perfectly paced emotional and meaningful.

The Culture:

Being from Pakistan I love learning about Mexican tradition and how they respect their ancestor through the Ofrenda (altar). It made me reflect on how all culture value the memorie of love one and how storytelling is part of keeping their legacy alive.

Watching Coco reminde me that animate film are far more than just entertainment they are window into our hope culture memorie and dream.

It taught me:

That family is our foundation.
That dreams are worth chasing.
That remembering our loved ones keeps them alive in our hearts.

I feel grateful for the opportunity to reflect and write about this incredible movie. I hope it inspire other to embrace their passion and never forget where they come from.
